Here's another interesting trivia question and I have no idea what the answer is.

Porcello currently leads the league in losses with 14 and he may very well get to 20 by the end of the season.

What is the most losses by a pitcher who won the Cy Young the prior year?

I hope it was a Red Sox

I'd have given it to Verlander last year. I'd probably go with Kluber over Porcello too.

Oh

Id give it to Tanaka over Porcello too, if we are gonna play that game!

Hell Yes!

Only problem is the 23.1 fewer innings pitched, slightly lower K rate, slightly higher walk rate

Don't know the number, but was it Greinke?

That's not a bad guess - Greinke with 14 in 2010. Rick will blow that out of the water if that is in fact the record.

I think the Astros are vastly overrated, benefiting from an exceptionally weak schedule.

First, they're in the AL West, which is a pile of shit. For interleague, they had the NL East, which also sucks donkey balls.

64% of their games have been played against teams with below average team ERAs, and nearly 25% of their games have been against four of the six worst pitching teams in the majors (measured by team ERA).

Fuck the Astros.

Yeah, but Verlander and Kluber were actually close to Porcello. Verlander got almost twice as many 1st place votes.

Nice! 20 losses with a 3.90 ERA. Granted they were throwing a lot more innings back then, but boy have times changed.
little side note in 1972 Carlton was 27-10 for the Phillies. The Phillies, when he didn’t pitch, were 32-87.

Is Nola another Carlton?:suds:

I don't know, but along those lines, I do know that earlier this year Verlander and Kluber combined to give up 15 ERs, which was the most by two former CY winners facing each other in the history of the game.

Good times.

They seem to be the unanimous Losers at the deadline

They just have the stench of a team trending in the wrong direction

Like Theo and the Cubs did last year, at some point you have to be all in on a season and try to win it all

The Astros seem to be more concerned with protecting their prospects for god knows when

I just do not see, a questionable (health) Keuchel, and a pretty shit group behind him, making it all the way throught October...And their pen is pretty brutal in front of Giles also

Keuchel annoys the fuck out of me. His stupid name annoys me. The way he spells it and the way he pronounces it. Just fucking annoying. That stupid looking Al Qaida beard he has annoys me too. What kind of an asshole looks at himself in the mirror and says, "yep, that's the look I'm going for." Stupid dick bag.

Fuck him and the Astros.
