If so, I agree. Leave Leake on the DL, bring up all the young uns and tank the crap outta this.

Herk in 5.22 runs per game

Difference: 1.43 runs per game

With our pitching that is a huge difference.

Of course, when Herk was out early in the season, we were starting McGIDP, and now we have Duffman. Still, Herk is the straw that stirs the drink.

I hope it is minor, but as Cal has reminded us over the years, Herk's mechanics will not age well.

This is definitely dooms-day mentality. I don't think I'm ready to go that far yet.

I am trying not to extrapolate that far out. The first half of the season had NOTHING to do with mechanics. Getting hit can and will happen to anyone. However, his uber-extreme mentality MAY have had something to do with his re-aggravation of the injury, and his warm-up swing HAS to wreak havoc on his core, so an oblique injury could be a sign of this.

Just my 99.9% ignorant take.

Not a horrible idea. He has a good defensive reputation, and he certainly has the wheels for the gig.

Mac has not had a good enough season, IMHO, to warrant the call. While anything is possible, the Giants do not call up kids, unless pressed, before they have basically taken the decision out of the org's hands (Belt, Posey, Duffy - Panik was only given the shot because the 2B situation was dire)
