Not happening this yearThat was another nonsense win.
Two CPBS in two games and we won them both.
Man, Wood went to shit quickly. We really need another SP.

Even moving forward, we don’t have big time SPs in the system. Hjelle I don’t think projects as much more than a 3, and Bednar is WAY too new to place any expectations on.That was another nonsense win.

If we go 25-24, the doggies would need to go 29-20 just to beat us by 1 game.
49 games to play.
Just for emphasis…They wanted to, but the damn busted so fast, the couldn’t get anyone ready in time
You mean because we spotted our SP 4 runs in the first and then shit the lead away?I'm literally afraid of what tzill is gonna post about what just happened...
Sure, those games are ugly wins but every team wins a few by banana peels and lose a few by banana peels. I think there should be concern (not that our concern will do anything) if the team starts losing a bunch of games and both the Padres and Dodgers get really hot.from Brisbee today:
In 2021, though, you’re getting some 6.5 and 7.0 cards from the pickier judges. Social media is overflowing with those pickier judges, and they have a point. The Giants should have won that easier. They’ve won five out of their last six games, but in three of those wins, the other team had to slip on a banana peel. In this particular game, the Giants blew a five-run lead in the early innings, and they blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning. If you’re a glass-half-empty sort of person, you might assume that the baseball gods will run out of banana peels soon.
This is a bit of a concern, sure. But they also just went 9-4 against the dogs, ‘stros and Brewers. Those are the exact teams they could be facing in the post season, and they DOMINATED.Sure, those games are ugly wins but every team wins a few by banana peels and lose a few by banana peels. Fair point. This is a bit of a concern, sure. But they also just went 9-4 against the dogs, ‘stros and Brewers. Those are the exact teams they could be facing in the post season, and they DOMINATED.
See you there maybeFair point.
I'm going tonight (just got invited by my former firm)...hopefully I won't have a co-worker phuk up my catch of Arroyo's HR...
Right, I just don't understand long time baseball fans who get so nuts after a bad game or series. EVERY year, including the ones where you win titles, has games you should win that you lose, blown saves, messy outcomes. You get swept by bad teams. You go 3-7 for 10 games. It's the same every year. And every year some fans react like the team is doomed.Sure, those games are ugly wins but every team wins a few by banana peels and lose a few by banana peels. Sure, that's the long term view. And its correct. But its a case of frequency. When you have 10 CPBS to start the season, that's historically awful. When you have four guys in their mid 30s having resurgent seasons, that's historically great. And when you have SPs leaking oil as badly as they have recently, it's cause for disbelief even with the BRIB. Doesn't mean it's not enjoyable to be where we are. It is. But the stakes, for me at least, are now raised. A 90 win season would be a disappointment (we are on pace for 103). And to get past "disappointment" they're going to need to get more out of the SP and avoid too many more CPBS.Right, I just don't understand long time baseball fans who get so nuts after a bad game or series. We might win it all. We probably won't. Same as every year.
All I know is we are playoff bound and we'll either get lucky like we did in 2010, 2012, and 2014 or unlucky like 2016. That's life as a baseball fan.Sure, that's the long term view. And its correct. Maybe that's unreasonable to expect. As you say, we might win it all; probably not.
Agreed we are almost certainly in the playoffs. Big difference between the WC game and the 1 seed in the NL though. All I know is we are playoff bound and we'll either get lucky like we did in 2010, 2012, and 2014 or unlucky like 2016. That's life as a baseball fan.
Really? I never knew that.Agreed we are almost certainly in the playoffs. Big difference between the WC game and the 1 seed in the NL though.
Snark aside, that's the point. If your view is that "well, it's all a crapshoot anyway" then I can't argue with you. However, that's not the way I look at it. A lot of luck to win a 'ship for sure, but I'm a big believer in advantageous seeding.Really? I never knew that.
Me too. I just don't get as worked up about it.Snark aside, that's the point. If your view is that "well, it's all a crapshoot anyway" then I can't argue with you. However, that's not the way I look at it. A lot of luck to win a 'ship for sure, but I'm a big believer in advantageous seeding.

Sounds like a silly place.Dont go to the Giants community on Bleacher Report then. You’re only as good as your last at bat or inning pitched there. Some of those people have no clue.
