They lead the AL in attendance

Spoiler Alert - Not everyone in big or small cities, are going to baseball games

No town

you cant get 60k of 15M to go to a game

that's less than a millionth of a percent, or the equivalent of 9 people at a royals game.

"If the Yankees drew more fans than the most in the league, maybe they would spend money"

They wouldnt spend $4M to win the division

Even the Royals did that.

Maybe Cubs too

nobody has said that for 15 years

you either want to win or you don't. I never thought David Glass would want to win more than the Yankees and their fans.

Im fine with the overall approach and philosophy now

I am not fine at balking at $4 milliion for a guy that fit them perfectly

The yankees have no LH bats in that stadium

There is a fundamental difference between the two.

Chicago is a massive hub with people going in and out so you have Cubs fans everywhere. STL is basically like a college town now where everyone is wearing the same jersey. It unifies everyone. Chicago likely has its rich people wearing Cubs swag and its poor people wearing White Sox swag or Bulls jerseys.

Back in roughly 2006, the Cubs visited Yankee stadium for the first time in forever

The entire NYC was covered in Cubs blue

Yankees swept the Cubs, but youd never know by the fans reaction, they celebrated like they won

Lovable losers fit them perfectly

Mariners move into the 2nd wild card spot, a full game ahead of KC and Tampa. Looking to end the 2nd longest active playoff drought in the Big 4 sports.
Still a long ways to go.

Dear Lord

Pederson hasn't developed the way the Dodgers hoped he would. His defense isn't as valuable as Puig's so I could see him being the odd man out. Elaborate upon your various holes?

Rich Hill named NL pitcher of the month for July. He'd be the Dodgers' number 4.

In case you haven't seen this from last night.

This was no accident. Royals cashed in on the "rally mantis" last year. Cards are now picking up games on the Cubs and saw this as a marketing ploy. Guaranteed someone in the Cards organization has a few thousand Rally Cat t-shirts printed up.
