.873 OPS
3 batting titles, 1 MVP, one great commercial line, on the path to the HOF

30 HR

nowhere near cooperstown
If he had remained a catcher and accomplished those stats, he'd have a shot. But 40% of his career starts have been at first base or DH.

They didn't give much up, either. I'm pretty happy about that.

On the other hand, I'm shitting rocks this morning about our bullpen. Miller's on the DL and Cody Allen is 0-1 with two blown saves and a 13.50 ERA in August. Hopefully it's just a blip, but until I see him/them rebound, I'm concerned.
millers gonna hurt

Injuns acquire Brue after the deadline. Mariners acquire Alonso after the deadline. Verlander will most likely be moved after the deadline. The deadline doesn't really mean shit anymore.

I'm surprised people aren't happier that the Royals are fading faster than Dark Tower movie hype.

I wasn't buying their bullshit in the first place. Even with their recent slide, they're still out-performing their pythag by 3 wins.

True, dont claim to be an expert on how these post July 31 deals work, but im suprised that Alonso and Bruce werent blocked by other AL contendors

JV a different story, he would never be claimed

Never say never. Could be that the Tiggers are hoping someone isdesperate enough take a huge chunk of the remaining contract. Maybe as it gets later into August, they will agree to eat more of it. Of course that all depends on if Verlander continues to pitch the way he has since the break. He one-hit (8 innings) the Pirates yesterday. 2.01/1.01/.185 in his last 7 starts.

I got the 8th pick in 2 seperate PPR drafts, Ill definitely be reaching for him in Round 2 in one of them

he has "it" dirt. he really does. ahead of his years in terms of poise. he is uber aware of space and contact. i saw him make cuts with nothing there, and just take the yard rather than push for more. good sign. he knows how to run, and how to last, in football. his old man taught him well...

Yeah, he has football smarts, in a PPR league, that kid is gonna catch 80-90 balls this year.....One thing to keep in mind is that Cam has always sucked throwing to backs, but I think they line him up everywhere in every way

yeah, he does...and he prefers to just tuck and run himself rater than find an outlet.

I thought they were underachieving at the start but the whole AL Central was weird at the start. I do remember thinking the Wild Card was 50/50 between them and Tampa Bay at the All Star break but neither team really inspires you with a ton of confidence.

I actually figured the Cardinals had a 50/50 shot of having Matheny fired right now. They went through the toughest part of their schedule this season a little better than I thought because they swept the Rockies and now with 3 in a row over the Royals the Cardinals are about 3 games or so better than I figure the average expectation was and maybe 5 or 6 games better than Matheny and Molina making the whole locker room implode. I still think Molina in the 5 spot is not a good sign for a team long term but I think he has had 3 HRs in the past week so winning fixes everything.

My joke with him is that he is someone you want on your team but also someone the Patriots usually find in rd4 or on the waiver wire.
