I'm too old to derive pleasure from guys on my favorite team being named an all-star, but kudos to you!
I can't remember the last time I watched the AS game.

Myers will never reach his potential. When two sharp, financially-challenged teams trade away a top prospect/ROY guy, buyer beware.
But you agree that many a preseason publication listed them as a playoff team, yes?
After adding all those pieces and all that payroll, they were expected to contend this year.

I didn't expect them to be good.
I agree that a lot of people thought they were going to be good, but I didn't think those moves meant shit. Reminded me of when everyone was all excited about the Blue Jays when they got all those broken/shitty players from the Marlins.

Like the Jays three or four years ago
I did, however, expect the Indians to be good, or at the very least better than this.

Holy shit! You're one old ninja!

Same here. I was sold on Cleveland and Seattle before the season(but not SD). So much for that!
snoogins would kick ass here.
Seattle and Miami was my WS. I thought the Astros were a year away and the Twins two.
How did he over-achieve despite not making the playoffs? Simple. Until this year, every one of the Padres rosters the last few years, on paper, looked like a 60-win team. Their position players have sucked. Hard to win many games when your best hitter is Seth Smith (2014), Will Venable (2013), Ryan Ludwick (2011).I don't know how missing the playoffs for a decade can be considered "overachieving", but you are right: this is the first time they were EXPECTED to be good and he stunk up the joint.

oh i know he wouldnt.I don't think he would come over here. I believe he said as much.
