Now that I'm svelte again, it takes way less booze to get me there.

Walked into the local bar last night and paramedics were everywhere. One of the local favorites had taken a nasty spill off a barstool and bounced his head off the concrete floor and was out cold for 15 minutes. That sorta killed the mood.

Actually, I'm drinking waaaay less these days; pretty much only when bored (as I was last night).

I don't drink anymore.

Of course, I don't drink any less, either.

It's pretty rare that I'm too hungover, though. I was on Thursday, though. A bunch of beer, bourbon and rye and only had an appetizer for dinner - recipe for disaster.

I had 7 beers last night but was pretty tired and just got a dehydration headache, even after drinking tons of water. Also heard a tip from a pro to take a fish oil before going to bed and another upon rising with a bunch of water. I definitely think it helps.

Last Sunday night at Santa Clara....great show.

That's pretty sweet. I haven't been to any spin-off shows since Garcia died because I just don't think it's the same. I made the conscious decision not to go to Chicago and this morning, I'm wondering if it was the right one.

I bet it was cool though. Do you have any idea where you can stream the concerts online?

Meh. Had to paint my front fence all day Friday. Got sunburnt and tweaked muscles I hadn't used in decades. Saturday was cool, though; went to a friends' BBQ and didn't have to do any work.

Yours cool?
Pretty much the same as yours, it sounds like.

Spent Friday morning performing manual labor filling in three huge ass holes where stumps had been ground out. Back is still singin some.

Friday nite ... hammered with my bro's ... attempted drank posting when I got home. I remember something about a dewd rubbing his junk in some coleslaw, glad it was a blur the next morning.

Saturday nite fireworks with some family followed by :suds: at bro's house, then just chilled the rest of weekend trying to figure out how a team like the Brewers can rip off 8 in a row and my Sux can't score more than 2 runs each game and still almost sweep the O's.

I bought an 18-pack of Buds on Friday. I had two Friday night, two on Saturday, and one last night.

No hard stuff.

Not a bad idea. Somewhat embarrassingly, I keep Pedialyte on hand and do the same thing - a glass before bed and a glass in the morning. Usually helps.

Yes, but I don't think you need electrolytes from drinking, just water. Correct me if I'm wrong. You're getting excess sodium from all the beer.

I don't drink too much beer. Mostly bourbon.

I'm not sure about science of pedialyte, but someone suggested it and it seems like it works to me. Maybe, like everything else on this planet, it's all in my head. . .

Trey was phenomenal...there were times when if you closed your eyes on certain tunes he sounded just like Jerry.
I watched most of last night's show for free on Ustream. I think Phishfiend may have some audio segments up...and you can always check out the various GD sites.

It's not going to hurt but that stuff's expensive and for replacing electrolytes after sweating, diarrhea, etc. I'm going to go see what I can find about its effectiveness with hangovers.

Pain reliever after drinking is especially rough on your liver, man. Be careful with that shit!

Thanks.

Phish is playing at Blossom Music Center, which is an awesome amphitheater sort of like Red Rocks, later this summer and I'm debating going. My issues are, the last Phish show I went to, maybe around '96 or so, the crowd annoyed the piss out of me, and they happen to be playing on my 10 year anniversary.

Okay, I'm sold.

"Alcohol is a diuretic," explained Melissa Price, a physician's assistant who sees patients in Orlando, Florida. "Consumption depletes sodium, which regulates how water is used in the body,"

Alcohol rids the body of water and electrolytes including potassium and magnesium through urination and can cause dehydration.

I wrongly assumed that the sodium in beer was replacing what you pee'd out. Now I'm looking at this very differently and wondering if drinking a bunch of water with beer is actually making it worse by causing you to pee even more, thus flushing out more electrolytes. :noidea:

Yeah, so I've been told ... but I thought it was only stuff like Motrin that was hard on the liver? Aleve is what I pop and it doesn't seem to cause any harm. My liver tests always come back off the charts (in the good way) and I'm shocked every single time with those results. Doc says it's genetics ... lucky me? :noidea:

Thx for the warning, though. :tea:

I'm thinking of making a preemptive strike against hangovers and drinking vodka and pedialyte.
