Is LaStella really a worse defender than Vosler, Villar, Estrada, Flores and any other guy who has been stuck at 2nd or 3rd base? I don't get why he is mainly DHing. If it is due to injury, his bat is not justifying him not being on the IL.
He has been a disaster FA signing.

I am ready for the off season. This team is so un-fun to watch.
I don't think I can express strongly enough how annoyed I am that FZ won't sell off at least Rodon and Pederson (considering his injury, some team would still give something for him).

Doval needs to show some serious improvement next season for me to not give up on him.

I never liked the signing. I wasn't aware of FZ's penchant for middle infielders at that time and didn't understand the stockpiling. I thought he wasn't that good, his season prior to signing being more of an aberration.

I am holding off on my annoyance until after the deadline passes.

Giants: 10 hits, 3 walks, no runs

Cubs: 7 hits, 2 walks, 4 runs (and counting)

Awful hitting

Awful bullpen

Questionable managing

Well, we did win a game this week, so that's something.
But was it enough to make the team buyers?

I remember really liking this team in April. What was I thinking?
I had a hard time really getting behind last years team. I just really don’t like rooting for the A’s.

But who can argue with 107? I have to give this strategy a chance.

I like Wilmer, but he could bring back a B+ prospect, I think.

Doubt it. Like you, I want them to trade Rodon and perhaps Joc. I wouldn't mind if LaStella went, or Ruf. In fact, trade all the DH's for guys who can actually run, throw, and field. Tall order, I know.
I was being tongue in cheek. I really hope FZ isn't THAT crazy.

Guys who are free agents this offseason or next offseason that could net something decent in a trade:

Carlos Rodon
Joc Pederson
Wilmer Flores
John Brebbia
Jakob Junis
Alex Cobb
Alex Wood
Jarlin Garcia
Dominic Leone

The rest (Longoria, Belt, Crawford, LaStella, Ruf, Casali, Alvarez, Boyd, Rosenthal) are either too old, too injured and/or too ineffective get anything in return.
