Span - cf
Gomez - 2nd
Pence - rf
Posey - c
Crawford - ss
Hwang - 1st
Hernandez - lf
Tomlinson - 3rd
Blach - sp

"No Walk" Gomez batting 2nd? Hunter "I'm too old and banged up to play regularly" Pence batting 3rd? Clearly, Bochy wants the Giants to get the 1st pick next year. Go scouting director!

Anyone want to wager how many days it takes for Carlos Moncrief to even make an appearance in a game?

LOL. Herk breaks up the no-no with a solo homer. I guess the Giants can't hit any other kind of homer.

Blach hanging tough at the latrine.

Seager and Bellinger are 5-6 in the game, but the Dogs still only have two runs. Which on any given day, is more than enough to beat the Giants' vaunted offense.

Blach has put on way too many runners for my liking but he's holding them (imagine if Kontos or Gearrin had entered an inning, we'd be down at least 5-0 right now).

Blach really is the 2nd or 3rd best starter on this team. His WHIP is higher than Samardzija's but he's allowed fewer runs per 9. Additionally, Blach's quality start percentage (62.5%) is higher than Samardzija's (57%). I'd argue that Blach is the number two guy behind Bumgarner. His numbers are even better than Cueto's.

9 pitches for TB :)

edit: Gs pen era: 4.15 vs dogs' 2.84 OW!

He reminds me a little of Bumgarner where he throws a lot at the beginning of a game and gets more efficient (if doesn't get knocked around) as he goes along. That may be the only thing that is similar between the two.

He doesn't have overpowering stuff, nor is he a junk ball pitcher. Still, he knows how to pitch, and limit damage. He does have a lot of baserunners, but he walks less than 2/9 innings, and gives up a HR every 12 innings, so more or less keeps it in the park. (no Colin jinx!) I like Blach, and think he's in the rotation to stay for a while.

I realize this is a 1-run game, but it doesn't FEEL like a 1-run game. It kinda feels like a blow-out.

Well, we are talking about the 2nd worst team in MLB playing the best team. That may have something to do with it.

Okay, okay, two things. Well, three if you want to count the arm that they throw with.
They share an arm?

Shit. Blach must get pissed when Bum does his Evel Knivel shit...
