BB9 going for the Sobrero de Oro here.

And there it is, ladies and gentlemen! He's done it! The Sombrero de Oro for Brandon Belt on a called strike 3. (To be fair, it looked out of the zone outside. But when you K three times in one game, you don't get the benefit of the doubt.)

:tsk:

Today's game feels worse than yesterday's, although it's slightly better (they didn't quite suck as much). Still, another disappointing one run loss.

3-7 on the make or break home stand.

Broke. Shattered. Demolished. Ground into dust.

We may have to give the WS trophy back we keep playing like this.

I can just see the Giants at the White House tomorrow.

Aide: "Mr. President, may I present to you the 2012 World Series champions, the San Francisco Giants?"

Mr. President: "So, how are things in New York for you fellas? Say, you don't look much like a baseball team. I hope your mojo doesn't rub off on me. In fact, it doesn't look like you guys could score in a Cat House."

An embarrassed team that would have a tough time winning at Williamsport will be at the White House tomorrow. 2013 has been an organizational failure, from the front office to the field. Forget about trying to finish out of the cellar in the division, can they just win 17 more games to avoid losing 100? 21 runs scored in the 10-game homestand for an incredibly awful offense.

tzill, the team has played like absolute SHIT for 2 months now, worst record in the whole sport over that span. It's ok for people on a sports message board to vent about it, that's kind of the point of these boards. I hardly call it 'shatting' to call them out for the sucking that they've displayed. They deserve every bit of it.

Now, if you take it to 'oh trade everyone but Posey and Bum, rebuild for 2016' that's obviously a shatty bridge too far. But to call 2013 for what it is, a horrible, sorry year of baseball...not shatty at all. Reality.

It's worse because of the expectations. No one thought the 1986 team would be good, or the 2007 team. We had every right to expect better this year.

Not disagreeing, but where I object to the post was the "they won't win 17 games and avoid losing 100" comment. That is unadulterated horseSHIT. I lived through a 100 loss team in 1985. This team is not that team. Am I disappointed that we aren't better --hell yes. I thought there was NO way we weren't one of the top 5 teams in the NL. Didn't play out that way, and sulking like a 4 year old girl about it isn't helping anyone. There are things to watch for the rest of the year like: will the SP right itself? How will the Brandons finish out? Who, if anyone, will be traded this week and what will we get back? Will we extend Pence? And on and on.

Not every year is going to be a playoff year. They won it twice when I was pretty sure they wouldn't; I can live with an implosion based on lack of depth and freakish underachievement. It's baseball, poop occurs.

Well, venting isn't about accuracy...it's emotional. Does that poster really think we're going to lose 100? Maybe so, maybe not. But this is a sports jabber board, it's ok for people to get raw when the team plays like this.

And sulking doesn't 'help anyone', but nothing we type here 'helps' anything. We're just yakking.

Your point is a good one, though, that while this team is wildly underperforming our expectations, it's not like the worst team we've ever seen as some like to point out, over and over and over in the middle of GDTs (hi Stokes!)

Yup. Even Noggin and Sabes have stopped reading the board, apparently. There goes our influence!

Correction: worst stretch of play I have seen. I saw plenty of bad teams in the 70's at the Stick. And the 80's.

I get your point msg but I'm with tzill on this one.

When you've seen the lows of Giants baseball, this is hardly it.

I was hanging with one of my good fishing buddies the other day (whose wife is a dodger fan..) and he was "venting" about how tough it is to be a Giants fan these days..

these days?! lol

They've played the shittiest of baseball the past 2 months but cry me a freakin river. IF you were a fan during the lean years, you'd know what it means to have it tough

Agree.

Anyone who cries about the hardships if being a Giants fan right now needs. Some serious perspective.

Try being a Padres, Cubs, Pirates, Astros or Mariners fan (among others). THOSE fans are allowed to gripe.

However, commenting on the shiftiness of this team is allowed. They suck. Not talent-suck (I still believe they SHOULD be a play-off team, talent-wise), but performance-suck.

As has been stated, this year is worse for me than 2011. 2011 had a villain that we could all point to and blame our sorrows on. That is therapeutic. 2013 has none of that we can blame (well, MAYBE Alfonso Marquez). Leaves it kinda hollow when all we can do blame our own boys.

So was my response.

Sometimes you can come back from down 3 game to 1 and sometimes you have the bases loaded with the heart of your order coming up and and you score zero runs......

Such is this great game.

Good point, except for maybe Bumgardner, everyone on this team deserves a slice of poop pie for how they've performed. Timmy gets a nod for his amazing one game performance (should have a much better record all told)

I guess I should consider myself lucky as a busy schedule has prevented me from watching as much Giants baseball as I normally do. If I had to stomach this every day, maybe I'd be gnashing my teeth as much as everyone else too.
