Ackley's slash line in July - .363/.382/.471 That means his OPS has been equal to Kyle Seager's :wtf2:

I'm just surprised M's aren't benching him now that he is hitting. Isn't that their M.O.? They only let struggling guys play.

Ackley is really good during the 2nd half of the season.

That's still .150 points higher (in terms of OPS) then he's been in hiss career in the 2nd half.

Don't hold your breath. They still might.

As much as I would love to believe that Ackley's .358 BA in July is an indication of long-term improvement, I don't buy it. I say sell high on him now while you've got the chance.

Let's all remember that Dustin Ackley hit .313/.392/.456 in 43 games from August 1, 2013 through September 29, 2013. The 70 games before that? .215/.272/.270. He seems to get fire hot for 1/3 the time, then ice cold the other 2/3.

As far as I can tell, the M's only have 2 hitters who have faced Gonzalez.

Cano is 2 for 18
Morales is 0 for 3

And I think Elias might be a new face for the entire O's lineup.

Could be wrong about this.

And on an off speed pitch after the first pitch was also. Great recognition on that and even better contact.

That is exactly what I mean by Cano having no range. I see guys running 20 yards across, sliding, and throwing guys out from 2B. Cano only had to go 2 steps to his left and he looked 60 years old going down. I see a future 1B right there.

It kills me that we can get a pitcher to throw 70 pitches through 4 innings and then just completely let him off the hook with a 6 pitch inning. Happens way to often. These are the Times when a decent offense goes in for the kill
