Moving Ackley to the #2 spot was only the rational thing to do considering how well he was hitting. It could be a coincidence, or perhaps Ackley is just a mental midget who cannot handle the pressure of hitting 2nd and lets it get to his head. Whatever, it's the Mariners.

I'm not going to go as overboard as some in saying things like I won't watch another inning, but I'm going back to more or less not caring and only watching a few select games unless they somehow turn things around.

My only worry is losing the team entirely like the Sonics. The ownership group is running this thing deep, deep into the ground. As the fans turn away and more apathy sets in the likelihood the team moves away grows and grows.

We don't want to lose our team, we just want the fucking owners to pull their heads out of their asses and give us something worth watching.

Seattle is too large of a market and the stadium is too nice for anything like that to happen. The Sonics at least had an excuse with Key Arena, the Mariners will not be able to use the stadium as an excuse to leave.

Not this year and not next, but it's already been a full decade since they had anything that resembled a competitive team. 5 more years? 8? This ownership isn't local and doesn't give a shit about us in any way. At some point they might find more value in selling it out. Do you really trust them? I sure don't.

Or at least the FO. Run 'em all out of town, let some fans who know their numbers and stats, as well as what we SHOULD have been looking for in the first place, try to rebuild them!
