Nice cutch, Catch!

So Matt Carpenter was 5-5 with 3 HRs and 2 doubles today. Do we even have a player who could ever do that?

You gotta hit 2 HRs before you can hit 3.

You gotta hit 1 HR before you can hit 2.

You gotta hit it out of the infield before you can hit a HR.

So no.

I didn’t want to abandon my perfect response just because facts got in the way, so I posted it anyway.

Just posted this on the MLB General board...

9 HRs. 500k per year.
Solid D at 3rd and 1st in a back up role. 500k per year.
Maturing to the point of becoming a clubhouse leader. 500k per year.

Laughing at the Red Sox as they pay the guy about 20M per year? Priceless.

Jones wore #63 last year. He is wearing #14 tonight. You gotta think wearing a “real” number makes him feel more like he belongs.

With the year they're having and the money they have I don't think the Red Sox or their fans give a shit

I think it's the 3 strikeouts today.

I guess I'm salty, Machado was the last straw I don't see how we make the playoffs. SHame too bullpens really matter there and we have a good one. If we can somehow squeak in who knows...

I maintain my belief that he can grow into a Connor Gillespie role at the ML level, and perhaps more. Maybe that's a low bar, but a kid with left-handed pop that has defensive versatility (3B, 1B, RF, LF) is pretty dang useful. Especially when he's making the minimum and under control for five more years
