His ERA for this outing is 13.5. For a reliever, ERAs can be very misleading.

Pence was the only guy in the Giants lineup who was BABIP'd to death tonight. He was putting great wood on the ball all night.

Listening to KNBR tonight on my walk, Kuip said he had spoken with Blanco right after he got back from the concussion DL. Blanco is reported to have said that for the last year and a half, he was almost completely forgotten about bunting. But now he sees the necessity of that part of his game. Haven't we yipped about that incessantly here on the board? He is not RIcky Henderson nor any sort of power hitter. When he plays his game, it goes well. When he tries to muscle everything, it goes poorly.

I know the number is what it is, but it doesn't feel like Romo is a 5 ERA pitcher. Yes he's not as automatic this year but he's 'better' than a 5 spot
