For me ... 2025 is pure torture Today's game is an exact model of what 2025 feels like for me. Our pitching is absolutely stellar. We are always in the game .... always ... but our offense is another story. Our lack of offense actually helps keep our opponents in the game. It always seems to come down to one moment in the game ... either our pitching faulters a little and they score a run or two more than us or our offense wakes up for a moment and delivers with men on base. Today iwas Flores delivering. As long as our pitching continues to hold we will be in the mix ... just wish the damn offense would wake up. Today we did it with only 5 hits ... not sure how many more times we'll be able to pull that off ...

Bostons staff doesn't pitch deep into the games. Bullpen v. Bullpen I like our chances.

I agree that it SEEMS to be the case. But there have been studies for decades trying to identify some kind is “skill”, but none has been able to find one.

But it sure as hell seems to be the case with this dude this year.

I was looking at Doval's stats, He is having a weird year, by far his best ERA+ but his FIP is significantly worse than 2022 or 2023

In any case he's a terrific closer again
