That smells right. So if Schmitt and Alexander go on the IL, who comes up?
Wisely and Waites?
FIFYWE ARE THEIRDADDY!!!CISGENDERED SPERM PROVIDER!!!
So if Schmitt is on the IL who's the backup shortstop?
Only pitchers on 40 man not already on the big club and are healthy are Sean Hjelle and Cole Waites (Sac) as well as Jose Cruz (Rich). Waites seems most likely (Randy Rodriguez just recantly went on the IL with Richmond and is already on a rehab assignment in the ACL with Stripling). So if Schmitt and Alexander go on the IL, who comes up?

Who's backing up Crawford if Schmitt is out?Only pitchers on 40 man not already on the big club and are healthy are Sean Hjelle and Cole Waites (Sac) as well as Jose Cruz (Rich). Position players are Bart, Diaz, Wisely and Johnson (Sac) and Luciano (Rich). Diaz just recently got healthy so I would expect it to be between Wisely and Johnson.
FYI, the Giants could free 40 man space by moving Haniger to the 60 day IL. Not a lot of obvious pitching options in Sacramento but either Fitzgerald or Wilson could get the call.
Any of Wisely, Fitzgerald and Wilson can play shortstop. Not sure how well, but they can play that position.Who's backing up Crawford if Schmitt is out?
Nevermind, it's Thairo
Only 3 middle/left side infielders on the team that can play (until Davis can field) so they better stay healthy (Villar, Craw, Thairo)
BUT...Oh, by the way, Giants now on pace to go 89-73 on the season.
Where's Juan Uribe when you need him?Any of Wisely, Fitzgerald and Wilson can play shortstop. Not sure how well, but they can play that position.
Makes sense. I haven't given up on Big Jelly.Hjelle may be coming back up to fill a void in the starting rotation.
NL West Notes: Giants, Lugo, Dodgers

Yeah, Waites, while he clearly has elite stuff, has continued to disappoint in Sacto - 6.08 ERA, "only" 8.7 K/9, 20 BBs in only 23.2 IP. Hopefully he has a recoverable injury.Makes sense. I haven't given up on Big Jelly.
I think it'll be him and Wisely
