Secret agent Heston comes thru...
Now the Giants have faced two former pitchers from their org today. Why is it we are not winning by 20 runs? Oh right, they were rejected by our team. There must be something decent about their pitcher (insert extreme sarcasm, created by frustration from this season, warning label here).

pull up the player profile on mlb.com

On the pitchers, there is the usual IP, H, R, ER, etc

Than below that are advanced pitching stats, like IR IR_S BQR BQR_S etc.
IR stats are also on BBRef.

Wow, this marks Chris Heston's 7th game since his rookie campaign with the Giants in 2015 and he has not looked good in those appearances. In 10 innings, he's given up 23 hits and 11 walks against just 4 strikeouts and 18 (17 earned) of those runners have scored! One could argue that he hasn't been given much of a chance since 2015 but he certainly hasn't made much use of the chances he has been given (and looked pretty bad in the minors both years, when healthy, as well, except in his starts with the Mariners' AAA team this year).

Then I must not have poked around well enough, as I somehow missed IR stats there.
On the detailed pitcher page, scroll down to the relief pitcher section.

And K&K were gushing over the kid. Kruk said that he would be a mainstay in the Giants rotation for the next 6 years.

That was pretty much when Kruk lost me. I love him on the broadcasts, but he is just too much a company man.

I liked the kid in 2015 too and hoped he would be a mainstay. I felt at the time, toward the end of that season, that he was being jimmy jacked when he wasn't the only starter struggling. Maybe his numbers these past two seasons would have been better had he started consistently but his 2016 season in the minors seem to suggest otherwise. I can be a bit of a homer for the home grown players.

I guess he's not the worst pitcher ever to throw a no hitter, according to my cursory search, but he must be in the hunt.

Why is it taking so long for Strick to have his hearing when Harper had his, seemingly, before the incident even happened?

How was that a station-to-station double?

A punt lineup ends up with the biggest offensive explosion of the year...
