Yep. He would have had 6 83's otherwise. We talked about three different scenarios, that's the one we both liked

I'm not gonna veto the trade but now it's not an even trade at all, Carew has value at 2nd not at 1st or DH, he gave away a far better player in Molitor than Cano and now this trade isn't a good one for him IMO.

For your information, I offered to throw in Drysdale instead of Carew. Shane said Devil won the trade, then because it was Molitor instead of Cano, that somehow makes it unfair? Is Molitor better than Cano? Come on..

Of course Molitor is better than Cano, the only thing that made this trade close to fair to begin with was that he was getting Carew for Cano

Depends on what you need? I think Moliter offers a great leadoff on base guy, Cano offers more power. Moliter can play multiple positions too. Him still getting Carew still is a good upgrade on Cano or Moliter

Lefty Grove is an Ace in this draft. Glavine is a #2 or #3 starter in this mock. Big advantage Devil
Carlos Beltran is a solid starter. Willie Mays is a great player in this. Big advantage UK
Rod Carew and Paul Molitor are about the same IMO. No advantage
Gary Sheffield is a HELL of a lot better than whoever I will take with his 24th. Big advantage Devil

Then add in the dynamic it makes on his staff. Lefty is his Ace. Instead of an Ace, Seaver is a top flight #2. Kershaw is a top #3...

He traded a good LHSP and got back a great one.
He traded a really good hitter for a really good hitter.
He traded a 24th rounder for a 500 HR hitter
