Darius Kasparaitis should be on this list.

definitely.
Cooke probably should be in over Downie, too.

and apart from Bertuzzi's obvious transgression, he has never been a ditry player.
a mean son of a bitch sometimes, and an asshole to boot (never bothered to learn the name of some teammates, etc), but not a fundamentally dirty player.

For an entertaining read check out Conrad Dobler's book, They Call Me Dirty. Auto-biography of the St. Louis Cardinals O-lineman.

Glad to see that my least favorite players in hockey - Steve Downie (#10) and Sean Avery (#17) - both landed on the list. Tough blow for them they both finished behind a figure skater (Harding, #9).

Agreed. If it was a list of top 50 boneheads, put Bert right up at the top. But to have him on the list for once incident while guys like Chris Chelios, Claude Lemieux, and Matt Cooke skate by... that's an oversight.

I was a bit disappointed to not see Ulfie at the top of the list.

And yeah, how is Claude Lemieux not on there?

Bobby Clarke also could have made the list (broke Kharlamov's ankle with a vicious slash during the '72 Summit Series) and routinely stirred up trouble with the Flyers slashing and spearing guys only to have Schultzie and crew come to the rescue.

I agree Bertuzzi's incident may of been a huge deal but it was only one incident. I guess he's just a marked man for life now. I dont think he's a dirty player though.

Darius Kasparaitis should be on this list.

One of my all time favorite players & yes I have a #11 white Islanders Kaspar jersey. I was at the Islanders vs Ducks game right after the trade & my seats were close enough that Milpuke could hear me yell at him all game long.

Didn't go through it all (I have ADD).

Where was Ray Lewis? And does this list count off field murders as "dirty"?

The fact that this list includes the NBA among sports makes it suspect.

It was a much better game in the 70's and 80's, I'll grant you that. But tell me this, how does Bertuzzi's big transgression make the list while Kermit Washington's sucker punch of RudyT is noticeably absent?

This list loses a lot of credibility by having not included Ken Linseman.

His nickname was "The Rat" for a reason and he kicked someone in the head with his skate during a junior game.

He was as dirty as they come.
