I saw Gillaspie do that all season long in SJ several years ago. Basically, he'd start leaning towards a grounder hit his way, decide he probably won't be able to make a play, and just gives up in the middle of his first step. He *may* have actually taken a 2nd half-step on that play, but it was classic "Gillaspie" non-defense.

It was a game-make-or-break moment. That's the time you play 120% and lay out to try and keep the ball in the infield, even if you can't make an out.

Gee, what a surprise. Pitching around Posey. 3rd pitch was perfect (FB juuuuust over the outside part of the plate). 4th pitch missed the target (which was supposed to be also over the outside). 5th pitch was also great - inside pitch (that was a ball) to get a swing thru.

OK, I am done. Gotta get up early, and this game is going to give me nightmares.

Gnight Stokes. That's what I probably should do, but I enjoy getting kicked in the nuts apparently. :heh:

ok, now I'm going to give up after those 2 putrid at bats, lol. Goodnight gents.

Well, at least the LAST out wasn't boring. Or embarrassing.

Totally agree

That ball looked close enough to make an effort. Very grating

Reverse of working the ladder up with fastballs.

Low strike. (swing)

Lower strike. (swing)

Even lower ball. (swing)

:puke:

I think the last two were changeups

bottom just dropped on em

lol I know. What a sad state of the lineup

Oh what a makeup call on burriss!

Total make-up call. On Pagan's play, rarely is a player safe by that much called out. What's with the 1B umps his homestand?
