He looked like me in little league.

Seriously.

This was before I realized I needed glasses.

What part of "total shitshow" does this phuking game not fit?

ANOTHER shitty AB with a runner on third <2 outs, mittfuckery by Forto, moundshatting by Disco....

UGH. I hate morning baseball. It never goes well.

There is a good breeze that kicks up time to time. Looked like he had a bead on it then it just took off.

Did that third strike on Schmitt look a little high? Did from our seats.

Was on a work call, so I missed it, but the ball/strikes have been suspect this whole series. I am glad we appear to only be a couple years away from the robo ump.

Why is Haniger hitting (or missing) in the 3rd spot?

And 2-14 with RISP is not going to get it done, even on a day when pitching and defense has been less than stellar.

In 5 innings, the Giants have left 9 on base. Unless Conforto does something here, that will be 12 left on base in 6 innings.

edit: and Conforto lives down to his BA and grounds out on the first pitch. :L

I’m not hearing positive things. Seems the zone is small and there have been more walks then before.

I have heard the same. I suspect this tells us more about the super-loose zones that human-umps use than the zones that the robo umps are using.

Tweaking. Whether it be to the software to fix where it is “missing the strike”, or to the rules about hat constitutes a strike, that is what testing is for. It may take some time, but it is coming.

Further, I assume they installed the tech at some parks and did a reasonable amount of double-umping to get a feel for the robo’s. I would hope so, at least…

Maybe tweak here or there. I’m actually fine with the way it is now. The human element and not so perfect umpiring is what makes it what it is. You’ll never get a perfect, quick game which is what some people are looking for.
