7 pitch inning :tsk:

0-5 with RISP :behindsofa:

We do have two walks, though.

Cain has to hold them here or the game is over.
He did have a 1-2-3 in the 4th. And as i type Garcia singles. and then Carpenter homers :burt:

OY!!

We won the series. That's all that matters. We won't go undefeated the rest of the way, and the team has looked REALLY good the last couple of weeks, so today can be forgiven.

And the consecutive solo-HR streak is extended by 2. Where is it now? 13?

The last 15 homers are all solos. The last non-solo homer was by Pence with a man aboard on 5/8 against the Mutts.

The Giants have a paltry 35 homers, 29 solos, 5 two runs, 1 salami, no EWS's.

Giants are now 6-16 when not scoring first

Giants are hitting .239 with RISP (a rare occurrence to have men on base, coupled with almost complete ineptitude of driving them in)

Giants team slash line is .232/.288/.351

Ugh.

The starting pitching has been better of late, and the bullpen has been much better. I saw today that Scrabble has not walked a batter in May.

I know it isn't your point, but when I said the other day the Giants are, in fact, a clutch hitting team, I was not wrong. They are hitting better with RISP than they do without RISP.

Sure, the bar is low, but that is beside the point. They are, by the numbers, better hitters in clutch situations than in non-clutch situations.

They just need to generate a lot more clutch situations.

Jesus..... So we've discussed how bad Gearrin has been (1:1 K:BB ratio, 1.7 WHIP, inherited runners scored, etc.), just realized he's hit 5 batter too. Dude has been utter garbage.

Of course, the guy just got married on Thursday. I feel like that going to be an excuse for the Giants to not cut him. Can't destroy his sadness after just getting married so soon.
