One of my favorite (home grown) Giants was Bill Mueller. One of my favorite stories about him is that one season he started off the season with his first PA with a HBP that broke bone(s) in his foot. He was out for a while (?5-6 weeks?). I was at the game his first or 2nd start after coming back. He had one AB, where he struck out. But he had 5 plate appearances : 4 walks, and a strike out. Bill's job batting 2nd with the Giants was "get one base, and if possible move runners over" and he did that very well. I remember that any game that I showed up early enough for BP, he was *always* in the IF taking ground balls.
