Great win by the 49ers. 3 in a row against GB. Kap owns GB.

I want to call attention to the play Whitner made on the second to last play of the game. He came from about 10 yards away to blow Cobb up and keep him in bounds. That might have been a game saver.

Boldin's yards, however many he had, were the most by a 49ers receiver since Owens in 2000. Forgive me for not having exacts but I'm completely spent after that win.

If the refs would have made the right call earlier in the game that last play is a field goal to tie the game as Crosby was making them from 65 to 68 yards in practice and has made 15 out of his last 16 kicks

Is that because getting the call right would not have influenced anything else in the game?

Let's assume for a second that nothing else changed until that last GB possession.

Do the Niners play so far off and allow GB to get into borderline FG range?

Actually it would have been a kick for the win as if it was good it would have been GB 31 and the 49ers 30 so good thing ya got that help

Because of course SF would play the same defense on a drive with 26 seconds left up by 2 as they did up by 6.

AND I'M VERY WORRIED ABOUT THAT!! If Seattle is able to shutdown our running game in similar fashion, ain't no way on earth our WRs will match up well with their DBs. We need to do a better job in controlling the line of scrimmage. If we think we can escape another week by not winning the battle of the trenches, we will be in for a rude awakening.

My initial thoughts

The good:
Boldin....holy cow he's a machine.
Kap to VD
Going toe to toe w/a prolific offense
Short yardage plays
Time of possession
Encouraged by the rookie Reid
Vance had a couple of moments

The bad:
Tackling was bad as I remember in a while
Penalties. Way too many
Missed FG
Clock mgt still seems suspect
A few badly missed blocks on offense

Overall, glad we got the win. Lots to clean up before next Sunday.

OMG. I've never seen so much whining in my life. You can't say that play cost the packers the game. It doesn't work that way.
