It was a bad block. Kind of been waiting on this video. 2nd and 18 about the 10 yard line and they go empty. As a QB you know the ball has to come out quick. When interviewed after the game TH said his read was covered and he "hitched" on his 2nd read. Gibson was open in the short right flat (2nd man out of the two man bunch) and it looks like he might have had a shot at Dotson over the short middle.

For sure it was a bad block by Leno but the decision making by TH was poor too.

I get it and agree with you in shared responsibility but the non block by Leno is unacceptable. The play caller could have helped things too.

Washington gave up 8 sacks in two games versus the Giants.
If turner keeps TH in the pocket, bosa may have 4 sacks himself. i think turner is actually a very good OC. Very creative. However, he is a shitty play caller. It’s ludicrous that Robinson only had 4 carries in the second half.
don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Find a new play caller…..

You can't be a good OC and not a good play caller. The job goes hand in hand.

Let's look at the 2nd half. Washington drove down the field for a TD with one run, and end around to Brown. They drove down the field again and Heinicke fumbled inside the 5 yard line. They drove down the field to the 1 and ROBINSON scored the TD but a penalty was called. So where did Turner screw up? That should have been 21 points instead of 11.

Folks think TH owns the locker room. Why did Jon Allen list "score in the Red Zone" as one of his three reasons the Redskins lost and several players say they need to score more points? JMO but the points were there, execution in the red zone killed them.

Robinson was averaging 7 yds a carry. He only touched the ball 4 times in the second half. That’s messing up. It’s clear what the giants strategy was. Bring the heat on TH. Load up at the LOS. Keep pounding it down their throats until they back off and start playing the run. Then go to play action and read/pass options with TH in space to do what he does best. Be an athlete. He is not an NFL caliber qb, but he is an nfl caliber athlete.

I am good with handing the ball to Robinson but I just showed where they were inside the 5 twice and got 3 points. The offense was working until the fumble and the penalty. There should have been 21 2nd half points.

the problem is the way we play football . ball control and defense with a sprinkle of passing . now we win like that but it leaves no room for error

the defense gave up only 13 points and that is true it was a good performance under normal circumstances however when we needed a stop on 4th and 9 it didnt happen . when the TO happened inside the 5 and we needed the defense to step up they gave up 3 consecutive 10 plus yards gain in the run game buring clock and giving away field position . the defense has to be perfect and it cant .

on offense if falco isnt pressured early he hits dotson for a wide open TD . if leno doesnt completely blow his block falco doesnt get a sack TD . if samuel ran his route at the end of the game about 1/2 a yard away from the sideline he can make the adjustment and that could have been a bigger gain . if dotson had made a decent attempt at a block at the goal line falco had the chance to score or if falco had cut back he could have scored

qbs miss throws or dont place it perfectly every time . yet our qbs seem to take a beating by the press and fan base when the issue is you are asking guys to be perfect to often with little margin for error

we didnt get ant short fields from to's the last 2 games . its hard to be perfect all game long and make long drives

it a playoff atmosphere scoring is low and mistakes are magnified . but it seems like whenever we have something working we get too cute and go away from our bread and butter . robby and gibby should have been eating more

we let 5 run wild and made no adjustments to control him or give help

we need smarter play calling and we need better execution all around

That's SF's offense too.

That's SF's offense too.

Maybe so, but CMcC is an all pro and an all star, and Deebo and Kittle are top players at their positions as well.
It's not a mystery why Purdy is doing so well - the oline is above average, the weapons are top 25% of the league, and the defense is punishing.

Kind of where we would like to be. Look, I see no way we win this game. Who the hell is going to block the 49'er front? We couldn't hold off the Giants pass rush. This is on RR for having no oline in his 3rd season. None of his TE's are top tier guys and Thomas is a shell of himself post injury. We don't have a QB that can get McClaurin, Dotson, Samuel, Robinson or Gibson the football or at the very least we struggle with that.

I'm not sure it's as dire as you are suggesting it is, but I do generally think this game is the least likely that the Commanders win of the remaining three.

On the other hand, I'm not sure Deebo is healthy, so the key on offense will be stopping CMcC and Kittle, and on offense will be the same as with every active defensive front - spread the defense, misdirection, disguises, slants, etc - all things that didn't happen last game.

The Commanders shouldn't be favored in this game.
