The Niners are going through a transition and the Harbaugh guys are leaving or retiring. It is inevitable.

Holy crap add LB Chris Borland to the retired list after 1 season. This guy was a stud last year!!

Pretty bizarre but as I already stated, Harbaugh left, his guys are leaving.

This would be like JL55 and Tree retiring tomorrow. Except they are better. Just crazy. The NFL has a big problem brewing. Once these guys figure they can play 2 years make a few million and get out.

Borland was the second of their 3 second round picks last year. I believe he was going to be Willis' replacement. No problem running on them this year!

Have to admire the guy in some ways. He's probably made a couple million dollars and he doesn't have to worry about getting his brains smashed in. He can spend the next few years figuring out what wants do with the rest of his life while having a nice cushion of money for rent/food/women/etc...

I remember the play where he slammed Tre Mason on his head and he's worried about his own safety??

This is the most shocking one yet. The other guys have been in the league multiple years and made their money. I'm not sure how much of Borland's signing bonus he's entitled to as an early retiree, but his cap hit last year was about $575K. He was a history major, so maybe he goes back to school for his masters and becomes a teacher?

yeaaaah, because i'm not sure what you can do with a History major other than teach. No offense to history majors out there but what's out there for these guys? Maybe he starts a business or something but hopefully he saved the bread.

By better, I hope you were saying Willis and Smith were better?

The NFL doesn't have a big problem brewing, as long as it's just the 9ers it's a beautiful, beautiful thing!:)

Willis & Borland. I think you definitely will see you shortly careers now players are smarter. That one year but I can see players calling it quits after three or four years. That's still a few million dollars in the bank even for a third round pick.
