There's not enough granite in Black Hills for that monument - The first four has to be Eddie, Bill, Joe & Jerry.

That's why it's so great to be a 49er fan after suffering through the dark 70s, our choices include one of the top two or three coaches of all time, one of the top 2 or 3 quarterbacks of all time, the greatest receiver ever and one of the best owners.

I go Rice, Montana, Walsh, Eddie D. Then on the Seahawks rushmore you go Lott, Gore, Young, Willis.... cause Seattle sucks long dicks.

You guys really only have one spot to debate over. 3 are locks.

And even that one spot shouldn't have that many names being tossed around. It's Eddie D, Steve Young or Ronnie Lott.

Personally I'd go with Lott. For a team that has had so many incredible players it would be hard for me to accept a Mt Rushmore with two non-players on it, and Lott has more of a mystique about him than Young did.

The 49ers dynasty was built by three people... Bill, Joe, and Ronnie. After them you have to choose one more, and the choice is easy. Jerry.

Ronnie gave up the tip of his finger in exchange for 49ers success, for anyone to exclude him is just baffling to me. Hey, I get the argument that without Eddie it would be different... but Eddie had a shit ton less effect on Sundays than Ronnie did...

Leo the Lion was an All-Pro at BOTH 'offensive tackle' and 'defensive tackle'... (pretty impressive)

First ever draft pick by the 49ers...

Played for 14 seasons, and NEVER missed a game...

9x All-Pro, and 10x Pro bowler...

You have Rice and Montana who are considered by most the best at their position and arguably the best two the game has ever seen. Lott, was probably the best safety. Walsh was arguable the greatest coach. So how do you not pick them? Although I would substitute Lott with Eddie only because he was he made the Niners what they became.

I wouldn't put Perry there, but did any of you consider putting him on there, sort of as a representation of the old Niners in the previous league? I think there are too many above him to do so, but that crossed my mind when I looked at the poll. I know Perry played in both, so that might disqualify him as a past past guy?

Had Joe Perry or Leo Nomellini played for say the Packers (and won multiple championships) they would be elevated in everyones mind. Not only would they be celebrated, but possibly household names...

These guys are HOF'ers... Unfortunately most people don't achknowledge individual accomplishments... Unless they see it with their own eye's...

For the patriots both Kraft and Belichick make it without hesitation for me. I don't think there's an issue with two non-players if both are clearly deserving.

Very touch decision..

Joe
Ronnie
Jerry
Bill

My battle was between Ronnie and Eddie, but anytime a guy is willing to lose a finger for the team, you really only have one way to vote
