Damn, dude, don't you want to at least see if he can duplicate last season before you throw big money at him? I mean, his track record for above average production is exactly one year, and even then he only hit .248. To date, last year was a career year for him in a career that has now run seven otherwise unremarkable seasons.

4 years, $60 million. Come on, man.

He’s been easily worth this money two years in a row.

What? Two years in a row??? He had 300 at bats in 2017. How can 300 at bats be worth $15 million if your name is not Mike Trout?

$60M in Yankee dollars is only $30M to everybody else.

Man 7 years 70 million all fully guaranteed. I know free agency can be rough but it doesn't get talked enough about how good baseball players have it. Todd Gurley who is the highest paid RB in football is on a 4 year 60 million contract and 45 of it is guaranteed and we all know a RBs career doesn't always last long

From a fans perspective since the Yankees are pushing to make a WS run you would think after seeing what Hicks got I cant see how they couldn't sign Adam Jones for maybe 2-3 years or something

Turns out, it's $70M over 7 years.

Exactly. It's a lot of years for a 29 year old but 60 mil is guaranteed over 6 years. I think there's some options after that

Why would they sign Adam Jones when they've already got Brett Gardner?

All either one of them are good for is defense these days, and at least Gardner will take a walk.

7 years are guaranteed, there's a club option for year 8.
