The fact that the Pens won 3 games with that dismal PP and underperforming (compared to the reg season, TB gets most credit for that) PK is remarkable.

The Pens top 4 have the most minutes of any top 4 in the playoffs. Not a good thing...but Marty is tormenting the 3rd pairing. About 90% of his ES points have come with them on the ice.

I thought the Pens D was much improved this season. It just goes to show no team can have enough D come playoff time.

Certainly not while his team is on the power play. He had 8:47 of time on ice with the man advantage last night and that's just in five opportunities, one of them abbreviated.

I thought the Pens D was much improved this season. It just goes to show no team can have enough D come playoff time.

I think the lack of Offense is hurting the defense. Puck posession is non existant and the turnovers are brutal.

He has zero confidence on the PP right now, can't buy a goal (hit the post last night I believe), and is being over played there. The first signs of hope on the PP in a long time came when Michalek was put back there to blast some point shots, but that's fallen off and now Letang is out there trying to force things that aren't going to happen. He's the lone creative player out there (sans Kovy, who just doesn't have "it" right now) and so when he's off on some other train of thought about weaving his way into the zone, the rest of the team is standing on the blue line with their thumbs up their noses. They have a few things that have worked when it comes to getting entries into the zone, but the second one of those misfires, Tanger is there to try taking it in on his own, only to look silly or get there but have no support. Infuriating.

Letang is a key piece though to Game 7. In games he's been prominant the Pens have won, but in all the losses it's been fairly obvious how poorly he played.

Fleury has to play out of this world and Letang has to be a huge offensive factor for the Penguins to win. They're both very capable, so we'll see what happens.

Seriously. It makes me sad to think of all the what ifs in this season...because our D has been (for the most part) stellar, and Fleury has played fairly well...if we had just one of them. Ugh.
