Son of a BEE the Giants sting the D-Backs 8-5

The bee's were flying around Pagan in center field today but it was Angel Pagan who stung the D-Backs right where it hurt with a towering 3 run stinger to right center.

Another team win as Lncecum started and pitched alright except for two pitches he left up. Too bad it was to Goldshmidt and Trumbo who launched two run HR's each. Today though the hitters took over the game as Belt hit his third bomb of the year deep down the right field line. Hicks hit a long HR to left in the upper deck as a pinch hitter. Morse came through with maybe the most important hit that tied the game late and got Pagan to the plate. Pagan with a huge game and the bullpen held up late to bring home the honey.

It was a good day to be a Giant and maybe the Giants can hire a bee keeper to bring the bee's to L.A. so the Giants can sting the boys in blue. Big series in Dodger stadium and confidence is high. BEAT L.A. !!!!

Go Giants !!

Awesome! They were losing 5-3 when I had to stop listening to the game and go back to work. This is a pleasant surprise.

Almost missed it...

The gents won a get-away game. That has been a hole on this team for a few years now.

this is gonna be a long year for tzill because i think a lot more of our wins are going to be like today vs like yesterday.

these arent your 2010 Giants anymore...more like 2002

Maybe. The thing about relying on hitting is that it goes cold. And when it does, losing streaks usually follow.

I wouldn't quite call us the '02 Giants just yet. We may be more offensive minded, but to call us 2002 is a stretch.

On a related note, I like the team to be offensive minded as a general philosophy. Our farm strength is pitching, so we should be able to reinforce our weakness through the kids. It also means our window may be a little bigger than we thought, for the same reasons.

i agree. and the 2010 model is better suited for the playoffs. I'm not saying i'm happy about it, just making an observation how this team feels. that said, i dont mind 8-5 wins the way you do.

A couple of stats to chew on.

The Giants are 128-99 with Pagan in the Line up.

This is the stat of the series that Krukow pointed out. The Giants scored 17 runs with 2 outs in the series. Clutch hitting.

The Giants also kept the walks down by their pitchers in the series which was a huge problem last year. Lincecum gave up 2 HR's but he struck out 7 and walked none which is a big improvement for him. I think he has only walked none in 17 of his lifetime starts.

That's very positive that Timmy didn't walk anyone. It kills him when he walks so many. He kept his pinch count pretty low. Homeruns are gonna happen in that ballpark. I'm not that concerned that he gave up 4 runs that way.

Are we talking about Timmy or Gaudin?

Sir, that joke was in poor taste. I think that we must 'nip' that behavior in the bud before it becomes prevalent here.

Well it is just the beginning of the season, and it takes a while to get a feel for things...
