Actually it's not so easy. He's meh but still one of our better hitters. If we are fighting for a wild card we can't trade him. But we probably don't re-sign him either.
I think there is little to no chance he re signs. I just hope he plays well enough to refuse a QO.

I think there is little to no chance he re signs. I just hope he plays well enough to refuse a QO.

I guess a semi-blessing in disguise, a one-year prove-it deal isn't ideal as a hitter in AT&T. If he keeps up this pace, he probably wouldn't think twice about declining it.

He's on track for 2.5 WAR, I think the Giants can approach that internally without paying more than the minimum. I guess the issue will be if the Giants are willing to go that route.
