Man is there anything more boring than a walk fest? This is the kind of game non-fans think of when they avoid it

5 walks for each team and lots of game left LOL

Same with free throw games in hoops.

I went to a high school game back in the day, one of the neighborhood kids was playing on varsity. The varsity game was supposed to begin at 7:15 p.m. I got there a little before 7:00 p.m. and the JV game wasn't even at halftime. Dribble-dribble-dribble-TWEET-FOUL-free throw-free throw-dribble-dribble-TWEET-FOUL-free throw-free throw. Before halftime, two players on each team had already fouled out. Being a former high-school/college referee, I went down at halftime and had a chat with the two referees. Needless to say, the second half went much quicker. But that first half? Least enjoyable basketball game I had ever seen.

kinda a thread jack, but i agree with nba freethrows. we now have players whose speciality if not career is build on their ability to draw fouls. miss the old days where if some one was inducing fowls repeatedly he'd find himself on the floor, repeatedly, with bruises,

Oh man, the hacktastic endings to basketball are obnoxious. The college I worked at I would attend their games and anytime it was close, both teams were constantly fouling each other. What should take 2 minutes was more than 10 minutes (at least).

And my two older kids recently picked up basketball as a sport. Neither are very good (but my eldest at least tries to improve, my middle child seems to think she should just show up and improve, but that is beside the point) but we are in a home school co-op that lets anyone walks on to be part of the team. The referees in those games are something else. Wish you could come out here and have a talk with them because the calls were so bad, I did wonder if they were blind. Probably the worst was a bad pass by the opposing JV team skipped off the hand of one of their players and went out of bounds. None of our guys were even close to it but it was called out on our team.

That will probably be overlooked in the run fest, as will Ramos' and Bales' batdouchery
Trivino will get the win though

We always have you to tell us about all the shitty hitting in a game we score 11 runs. You have a very bizarre way of appreciating the sport LOL. Most of us know that in any game even ones you score 11 runs there will be some bad ABs, and it's not worth mentioning at all. Not you though.

Bailey has 2 RBIs by the way

might as well jack the thread; the game isn't compelling. The NBA has done quite a bit the last two seasons to get rid of blatant foul hunting. The Beard can't do it as much and Trae's shenanigans aren't being tolerated either. Usually, its pretty easy to see the blatant stuff.

True. It's that runner at 3b, less than two out AB where Bales K's looking that aggrieve me.

:tj:

I wound up coaching some Junior Lakers teams for the local YMCA in South Pasadena/San Marino when my son was young. There was one game where the opposing team (from San Marino, natch) had a kid who was at least a head taller than all the other kids. He just parked himself in the key, and made layup after layup. I began counting, loudly, 1-2-3-4..... Of course, I got T-ed up. At halftime, I apologized to the referee, and then asked him what his definition of "three in the key" was. He replied, "It only applies when he has the ball." I shook my head, and walked back to the sideline muttering to myself, "Moron." He obviously had never read the basketball rule book, and was too stupid or stubborn to learn. The ref was not one of the local high school kids, either. He was an adult who should have known better.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming....

True, but the NBA has a real problem with the way Steph gets mugged every night and nary gets a call. He was never one of the ones like the Beard who went hunting for fouls. He does so now, once in a while, out of desperation. I cannot believe the refs don't see it.

Agreed, and there may be a slight halo effect from Jimmy, who definitely earns the fouls he gets. The refs seem to be calling more for us; even for Steph.

He still gets assaulted every game with no consequence though.
