3rd time through the order is real and not like the old guy was sharp for the first 5 innings
Not disagreeing with any of that but still pointing out that if Ramos doesn't fumble that fly ball he goes six strong.

Oh, me neither. He's a legit starting C in the league. Checks all the boxes EXCEPT hitting. Does make you wonder if Bart as a backup would've been a good thing.
Bart looked like crap with us, though. And we didn’t have the ability to keep him because he was out of options.

It really makes me question our coaches, though, that the Bucs were able to almost immediately turn him into a near all-star level catcher almost overnight.

Kruk was on M&M this AM and made a good point. One major problem that the SPs had with FZ and Kap was that they would pull SPs before 5 IPs on the reg. BoMel was making a point to the whole staff that he would TRY to get the SPs through 5 if at all possible.

I am AOK with that strategy.

Or maybe a different pitcher doesn’t get into trouble at all. Just sayin’, this one was pretty obvious

Sure but JV had thrown 5 when I said time to pull him. Would have been like his first and only decent start, 5 innings 2 runs

But it’s baseball and you’re gonna lose 70 this year and this happened to be one of em

Unless there were some clubhouse, coaching, or staff management issues unknown to us, Bart would have at least as good as the revolving door of backups since his departure. Of course he might have not accepted a backup role. Would have been nice to have him as a DH option later in the season if/when Wilmer comes back to earth

Jerar hopefully is the DH and Flores can play first if Wade is still struggling. Gives Wade another month to step it up

Sure we did. We decided not to.

I think Bart simply needed a new start. One would think being under Posey would have been a great benefit, but it must have been too much pressure for him. Even after Posey retired he never showed what we all expected from him. Bailey stepped and took the role that was given to Bart and that was that. I’m happy for him but he never really showed us what he is doing now with The Pirates ‍☠️ .

Oh, I remember. All I'm saying is that we COULD have kept him. Not even saying it was wrong to trade him.
It is funny, the first time FZ acquired Tom Murphy, he didn't even wait two weeks to let him go. Then he goes and has a career year. The second time FZ acquires Tom Murphy, Murphy cannot even go a few weeks without going down with an injury.
