I think he still might have some importance to this season for this team. I just don't see another team trading for Austin before the deadline.....so why the hate? You just wanna cut him and roll with Williams? Not me, certainly not at this time I don't.

We've heard all this gloom and doom before. I remember several years back, the Redskins were supposedly in dire straits with their cap, were going to have to cut a ton of vets and be non players in FA. Then FA opened, and they signed everyone but the Easter Bunny. The money can be moved around, reworked and shifted until there's a dead year or a huge increase in the cap, which is coming. Meanhwhile, we are winning the Division this year, and Schefty and his ESPN haters can all suck it

If money wasn't a deciding factor the Colts would be a perfect trading partner. I am SO done with the Ratliff's & Austin's, Murray will soon be in that boat....:gaah:

Willians is a rookie and will surely have his growing pains. Unless Austin's presence will have this team poised to make a SB run (sarcasm) I say roll with the young guys. Between Harris, Beasley, and Williams I think we can and have already replaced Austins production.

These restructers will keep us in cap hell until my Grandkid is 60 years old. By the way I don't have a grandkid yet. Pretty soon Jerry will have to bite the bullet and rebuild this team. I think that time will come sooner than later.

I do agree with you on that, but clearly, Jerry decided that day will be several years down the road when Romo retires. Until then, its restructure and redo every offseason. I think when Romo retires, Jerry retires, and Stephen bites the bullet in his first year to get a clean slate

exactly. we re-structure this coming off-season and then the next off-season we're right back in the same boat way over the cap and starting the merry-go-round again

that's kinda true if we draft bad and make bad choices in extensions. Every team in this league restructures contracts. There will also be a year where the cap takes a good increase. It's still about being smart. The last few drafts look solid. Much more required in coming years

Jerry may see the end of Romo's contract as the rebuild time. I'm only guessing because with Jerry nobody knows what his master plan is. Hell I bet Jerry doesn't know his master plan.

Agree the last few drafts have been solid. A few more drafts like this and we can climb out of hell without a complete dismanteling of the team. Please excuse me if I still fear a horrible draft in our future. I think at the moment Jerry is listening more to his Football People, but I have a bad feeling that if the team does well Jerry will let his ego tell him he can do it all by himself.

:suds:

it's all on how we look at things I suppose.
best part about Jerry is the business side

No argument from mean here. His son has done ok managing the cap too. Just afraid at some time it may become unmanageable.

This last Draft looks to be very solid still wish Escobar wasn't our second pick though.:bawling:

I agree totally. Ratliff and his over priced additude has finally been shown the door. I like how are young receivers are coming along. Time for Miles Austin to go as well. He can't stay healthy and the same goes for Murray. RB's are more expendable in today's game. With is contract we can do much better. We also need to start thinking about Witten's contract. I would only want him one more year after this year is up.
I also love how the secondary and our young crop of LB's are coming along, so I would touch anything there. I would seriously consider trading and/or getting rid of Spencer, Hatcher and Ware and revamping the D-line for next year with the upcoming draft and some of the nice pieces we already have. I think Selvie might turn out big time for us.

I don't know what happened to the Cowboy fans. This team is in first place through 7 games and idiots wanna talk about offseason moves. It's beyond insulting for the real fans of Dallas Cowboy football and the long sixteen years of average play.

Newsflash....IT'S A WEEK TO WEEK LEAGUE
You guys were the same ones talking about this defense and comparing it to the one in Washington just three weeks ago. Now it's Austin and murray. I HATE DUMB ASS FOOTBALL FANS
