JA Happ just got paid more per year than Stephen Curry. End of discussion

So does Nene. Bad contracts in every sport.

Besides, even with a salary cap - basketball players average nearly 1.7 million more per year than baseball players.

Not that I care who's more overpaid, I think they're all over paid.

Not the end of the discussion, baseball players are worth more and Curry's contract is up after next year I would bet Happ won't be making more than Curry in the final year of his three year deal.

Agreed they are all overpaid but NBA players by far are the most overpaid, any sport someone with Down Syndrome can play should not reward its players with multi million dollar salaries.

Mike Trout is worth about 8 to 10 wins per year for his team. LeBron is worth about 40 wins.

So big overpaid guys walking around putting a ball in a hole is more your thing? We gonna change that!

No way. I'd much rather watch baseball than golf.

Proves absolutely zero. Two or three great players can win it all in the NBA you need much more than that to win in baseball. Baseball is much more a team sport

Sure I can, the NBA is full of the best players in the world but they are walking around putting a ball in a bucket. I bet there dozens of MLB players who can make a 3, how many NBA players you think can hit a 85 mile an hour curve? It takes so much more skill to play baseball they should be paid way more than NBA players.

Good choices for the comparison. Let's try it out.

I bet every basketball player alive can catch a fly ball, but how many baseball players can break down professional defenses with their dribble?

I agree hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in sports, but people who think basketball is a low skill game probably never played competitively. All they see is the crazy athleticism of the players and assume no skill.

I am not a fan, this will end up like the college ball draft. The idea of the draft is nice, but in the end the voting will still be lopsided towards the greats. With few exceptions like gooden

I agree I would vote no. Divisional is better to me

A fly ball vs break down a defense yeah that's the same. Why don't we just simplify things and say whos more likely to be able to do what the goal of the game itself is. Hit a round ball that's going 80+ miles an hour with a round bat or put a ball in a basket.

I never said it was a low skill game but it is much lower than baseball...

There are people trying to stop you from putting the ball in the basket. Missing that part

Well if we do this 3 year thingy we will have to go back to posting stats with our team otherwise its just a name value draft again as there will be some players never drafted before. I still have my doubts about this but i'm in.
We don't have to. Division buckets works

Interesting story related to this. My grandfather was an amazing athlete. Played football at Rutgers and got drafted by the Boston Braves. Hardest sport he said he's ever played.......... Golf. And he's a great golfer he's the one who taught me the game and got me to love it.

So divisional draft? 4 from each division. 1 wild card pick that can be picked at any time on a stadium, whoever picks their stadium first will have home field? 1920 - 2000? Players first stat has to have been between those seasons.

Other ideas?

Thoughts?

They aren't tackling them.

Breaking down an entire sport to a single act is not really the whole sport though. The real reason the baseball players get paid more is because the sport is not taxing so they get 91 home games to generate revenue. It is a sport in the same way bowling is a sport, sure it requires skill, but you don't really have to be an athlete.

and before people bring up a few examples of a couple that are athletes, I did not say they could not be, just that they don't need to be.

Come on guys, everyone knows that fooseketball is the hardest. Trying hitting a round ball with a round bat at 90 MPH into a basket 10 feet high while being blind sided by a 6'2" 235 dude at full sprint! Now that's a sport!
