The New Orleans Pelicans have reached agreement on a three-way deal with Sacramento and Portland to acquire guard Tyreke Evans, league sources told Yahoo! Sports

As part of a sign-and-trade arrangement, Evans will come to the Pelicans on a four-year, $44 million contract. New Orleans will send guard Greivis Vasquez to the Kings and center Robin Lopez to the Trail Blazers, sources said.

Portland will send future draft considerations and cash in the deal, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The trade came after free-agent point guard Jose Calderon rejected a contract offer from the Kings, league sources said. The Kings had hoped to sign Calderon and trade Vasquez to another team.

The threat of a four-year, $44 million offer sheet to Evans, a restricted free agent, prompted New Orleans and Sacramento to work out an agreement.

The deal can't be made official until July 10.

Evans, 23, averaged 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists for the Kings last season.

Vasquez was one of the NBA's most improved players last season, a fast-rising playmaker who averaged 13.9 points and nine assists for the Pelicans. He has a chance to become the Kings' starting point guard.

The Blazers needed a veteran center to plug into the lineup, and Lopez gives them a solid defender and rim protector. He has two years and $11 million left on an affordable contract.

Just curious Doors where'd you copy this post from? :lame:

Well, he has never done a good job managing rotations, especially with guards. Didn't he continuously hold Curry back while he was in GS? He certainly screwed up in Sacto. He gave way too many minutes to guys like John Salmons and Aaron Brooks without every really establishing any sort of rotation.

Anyhow, looks like the Warriors have a stud coach now. I am very impressed with Marc Jackson.

Yeah he seemed to have a mancrush on Acie Law my feeling on Smart was he had been a Warriors assistant for 8 or 9 years and paid his dues then was thrown into the H.C. job when Nellie got bought out after camp started, I just thought Smart deserved more than one season with us. I am not sure Keith is ever going to be much of a head coach just felt he deserved a fair look with the Warriors.

As for Jackson I am happy with our results but he seems to not know how to coach yet, we'll see what happens now that Malone is gone I am not sure if Jackson will draw up plays or someone else will take over the role for us. Jackson seems like a popular players coach and a good motivator, as bad as my team has been since the Webber trade I'm pleased with anyone getting us into the playoffs for now.

Oh, Jrue can shoot. That's not his problem, turnovers are. Tyreke's presence as a ballhandler will take pressure of him. I also firmly believe Anthony Davis is the next Kevin Garnett-like superstar. These moves were necessary for them. With this kind of talent, it's all but assured they won't be like the Raptors and Pistons who suck every year yet are stuck with mediocre draft positions.

That is precisely what they will be. Neither Tyreke or Holiday are good decision makers, they both dominate the ball and they both tend to take a lot of bad shots. This is NOT going to be a very efficient offense. Evans doesn't have a clue how to play with the context of a team offense.

I like Anthony Davis a lot, but because of these moves, Philly will contend again before NO. No way this team makes it out of the first round of the playoffs as constructed, if they even get there.

I don't like the Holiday trade for the Pelicans, but now that you have Holiday, why in the world do you go get Evans? He is basically the same player, but not as good and a lot more expensive. They needed another shooter at that spot or another quality big man.

Dude, with this much talent and high-character guys, there's now way they can't make this work to at least keep themselves above Toronto/Detroit level. Monty Williams is a good coach.
