I've said what I've said!

I get it... NBA is about offense, totally get that.

But after watching the Celtics last night, man has that 3 point line screwed the game.

Yes Kristoff can shoot the 3 and the Celtics can for the most part but they are not Curry

Hell a player OVER 7 feet tall standing Behind the arc instead of inside on the block!?! Come on!!

Thoughts?

Disagree. But it does need tweaking.

The end of the Knicks/Pistons game is how the game should be, not a 3 point fest.

Yeah I can see how it has "helped" the game for offense sake but I just hate how teams seem so reliant on it.

Dish inside once in a while. Movement! Don't just stand behind the arc!

Looks like they settled on a lot of bad shots last night because they were sub 45 percent from 2s also.

9 for 18 from the stripe doesnt help either.

Agreed

It's really a shit product now that they have to fix.

Removing the short corner three and bumping the line back a foot should be considered.

I like this solution, just push it back a little (or not), but run it the same distance all the way so it hits the sideline, eliminating the short corners.

I've got no problem with 7 footer going outside as it also then pulls the defense to open up driving lanes.
The Celtics are one team that I feel has become WAY to in love with the 3. They have a stacked roster for playing pretty much any style of basketball, so just chucking up threes seems lazy and when they are not falling loses them games.

Id want to see the short corner rule in the preseason first. Bumping the line back is a no brainer and creates even more spacing.

They couldn't buy a bucket last night from anywhere. When they actually drove the lane they actually scored but for some reason they refused to keep doing it

They will change that up in the playoffs. I think theyre in a spot where they know they're the 2 at worst and are just trying to get through the reg season healthy as possible. But yea some of their games are ugly

Thats exactly what the Raptors did YET the Celtics didn't take advantage of it and still shot the 3.

I do agree pulling defenders away from paint is a MUST but if the team refuses to go inside it's pointless

Only if 3 point percentages don't drop because of it. If the average drops below .333 then the 50% 2-pointer becomes the better shot and defenses will sag in to defend that, eliminating space.

If there's going to be a change, it's going to have to come from the coaches and players. With the distance guys are hitting 3's from, extending the 3 point line isn't going to do much. In fact, it would space the floor even more and likely create even more offense.

Players need to learn to let success be their guide. If the 3 is falling, keep shooting. If it's not, stop shooting it, take higher percentage shots and try again later.

Let's face it, other than a handful of coaches in the NBA what player is going to listen to their coach to stop shooting 3s.

But absolutely! If shots aren't falling STOP taking them, I certainly agree with you there!

Watching Wemby at 7-3 hanging around the 3 pt line is mindboggling.......

He's averaging 9.5 3s a game......10 shots from there last night....
I heard somewheres the Spurs are trying to get him more muscle before banging with rest of the bigs around the rim,but still.....

Here's the 3 pointers shot by the years;

Not sure how well it would work, but maybe the 3 should be opened up only with 5 mins left in the game.......
Maybe just the whole 4th qtr.....
But there should be some sort of time limit......
