Didn't Whitney win a Cup in Carolina?
Was he on that team? Oh well. He played in Spokane, so the more the merrier for ex-Chiefs!

I like the whole jersey swap for this series (white out) for home games.
Another thing I like about this matchup, Raffi Torres can't do anything that will have long-reaching repercussions.
Sonny Alafriz hasn’t caught Coyotes fever. What will it take for him to catch Coyotes fever?
“Probably if they get to the Stanley Cup finals. Then I’ll watch them,” says Alafriz.
yep right there...... dont worry Sonny that they are playing to get there. that they would need the support more now and last series and last series and in the season... just you wait for them to be that close for you to become a real fan
fuck you sonny

I'm curious what the condition of the ice will be in The Valley of the Sun when they begin play in mid May. Not that it will be frigid or anything remotely close to that in LA, but it's gonna be a bit toasty when this series kicks off in Phoenix.
Could this have an effect on play?
It's the relative humidity and dew point that really affects the ice moreso than the ambient air temps.

humidity definitely drops as summer approaches in the southwest. I guess maybe it shouldn't be an issue. I just find it interesting that this will probably be one of the hottest climates ever for a NHL playoff series.
As disgusting as a Stanley Cup parade in Phoenix would be to witness, we would simply have to grin and bare it. Hard to believe in "Hockey Gods" when a place like poor Buffalo goes decades without seeing a win, yet a market who couldn't care less could have one.
