Would you agree that the Heat at their best look better then any team in the East?
They can beat you so many different ways.
The problem is they often have great inconsistencies from quarter to quarter, game to game.

Who looked just as good?
If we're talking only about game 1 of the playoffs... no one in the East looked as good as Miami did.

If we're talking about the season in general when Miami has played "at their best"... I would say Cleveland and Toronto have looked as good.

Understandable. Thought we were only speaking about G1

If the Heat play the way they did last night, and the Cavs played the way they did last night, I got the Heat in 6 if they face each other.

Let's say since the AS break, once we introduced this style/lineup.

No way the Heat can play like this for an entire series

I'm still not willing to say they've looked better than the Cavs.... even in the games they've played at their best. BUT... I fully admit that I haven't seen a lot of Heat basketball in the last couple months. I'm probably not the most qualified person to have an opinion on that.

No. Cleveland is the best in the East. Miami scored 120+ yesterday. I am thrilled. But I doubt we see Deng shoot 85% from the field and 67% from 3 for the playoffs.. he does, Miami will be champions. But I highly suspect a regression to the mean is likely. Miami is good. ECF good. We arent getting past Cleveland barring a miracle or just epic LeBron collapse.

I don't know. I haven't seen many Heat games this year but I liked what I saw yesterday.

That was about as perfect of a game as they played all year long. Everything was clicking.

There are very few games in a season where a team play their A game. This was one.

I agree.
They are better because they have the consistency of what James brings.
However, if we are talking best game vs game, then I think the Heat is more versatile.
It's strictly hypothetical, no real way to know.
Just conversation.
I do know that last time the Cavs played us, they saw a pretty similar type effort and had no answers at all.

If the Heat play their absolute best game and the Cavs play their absolute best game, the Cavs win. Not by a lot, but they win. As bks points out though, teams playing their absolute best, doesn't happen a lot.

A 7 game series between 2 teams that are fairly closely matched is about consistency. Neither team has exactly been a model of consistency this year, but the Cavs have been a little more consistent than the Heat. That and Lebron give them the edge in the series, but not one so great that the Heat can't overcome it, especially if Lebron is starting to wear down a little by the ECF.

Both teams had virtually identical records since the AS break. The Cavs went 19-11, the Heat went 19-10. So yeah, "as good as" is probably the best description.

Miami certainly played better after the all-star break. Joe Johnson and the move of Deng to a 4 to cover up for the loss of Bosh seems to have made Miami better offensively. But we aren't as good as Cleveland. We got nothing for LeBron. It will likely be Winslow getting a good amount of minutes on LeBron. He is our best defender, and probably would do the best... but a rookie on LeBron with a trip to the finals on the line, I don't think that ends well for Miami.
