One of these pairs does not belong... one of these pairs is not like the other. Somewhere DC, Backstrom has a single tear rolling down his cheek. ;)

Capitals

(1) 1st Round of the Playoffs
(2) 2nd Round of the Playoffs*
(3) 3rd Round of the Playoffs*

*If necessary

Bwahahahahahaha. Delightfully bitter. Hopefully not true, unless you meet the Flyers!

1. Power Play- I can't remember the last time the Rangers had a good power play so i looked up there percentages and league ranks since the lockout. 2010-2011: 16.9(18th), 2009-2010: 18.3(13th), 2008-2009: 13.9(29th), 2007-2008: 16.5(22nd), 2006-2007: 18.5(8th), 2005-2006: 18.9 (8th).

2. Consistent Scoring- Too many times last season the Rangers would go a few games scoring 1 or 2 goals than score 6 or 7 in one game and then go back to a few more games of 1 or 2 goals and so on.

3. Marian Gaborik- He needs to return to his 2009-2010 form for the Rangers to make a serious run this year.

All three of these are actually intertwined with each other so if one improves most likely the other two will also.

Richards is the key to the powerplay & the resurgance of Gaborik. He's a tremendous passer. If Gaborik is healthy he should score at least 40 this season.

I said nice things about the Rangers. I'm going to go puke now.

Wings:

1. Lidstrom. The man was incredible last season. Amazing. Unbelievable. But he was the backbone for a defense that was either injured (Rafalski, Stuart) or extremely suspect in their own zone (Ericsson, Rafalski). Can he be that stud anchor again, or will father time finally catch up to him?

2. Young guns. Kindl, Smith, Abdelkador, Helm, Emmerton, Mursak (when healthy) and possibly Tatar are all going to either have to break into the lineup or jump their play up to the next level. The Wings have been transitioning to younger, faster, more aggressive guys for a few years now. This is the year we need to find out of these guys can actually carry their weight.

3. Me. Will I have a brain aneurysm, heart attack, or stroke watching Big Rig this year? Will the other members of the board finally get sick of my bitching and ban me?

1. Power play power outage. Don't think we scored a PP goal after January last season. And none this pre-season. Maybe moving Ronnie Franchise off the bench will be a good move (he was in charge of power play)
2. Defense. Can we actually play some in front of Ward? Or will he face 5 or 6 1-on-nones per game again? But.. at least we brought in a super-duper shutdown guy in Kaberle.... right?? Right????
3. Better not raise the beer or parking prices again, or I'm gonna freak.
