He is dependable and consistent. He has been consistent mediocrity for two years now.

I think I heard/read something at the time the trade was made that the Giants really liked him going into the draft and were debating between him and Bishop at #10.

I heard this too, and a comp too Zobrist.

There is still time for him to be a contributor at the ML level.

And while I kvetch about Yaz, he's only had 21 AB's so far - 1 for 21. Slumps happen, and there may be an injury reason.

I'm sure he'll be back to being adequate in no time.

I would have to believe the Red Sox would be very interested. Maybe we could coax them into giving up a high prospect or two for him.

While the Giants absolutely would have the right to trade him there, he has made it pretty clear he doesn’t want to follow his grandpappy’s path.
