Who is everyone's second team? Or put it this way. If the Devils didn't exist who would you root for?

Man that's a good question. Living in north jersey you would think if the devils didnt exist myself and most people would be ranger fans. I know from experience my brother in law is a ranger fan...took his kid to a devils game for price and convience and now the kid is a devil fan.


So i would probably be a ranger fan....if devils moved I would probably stop watching hockey as much as i do and only have a casual interest.

I don't have a second favorite team but if the whale ever came back they would be my #2

My second Favorite team is the SJ Sharks, I've liked them since their Nolan/Damphousse days.


If the Devils never existed, I would probably become a Flyers fan. Thats obviously never going to happen now that I hate them

My father liked the Islanders so I probably would be an Isles fan. Our house hated the rangers so no way would i ever root for them.
I remember when I was little I liked the Isles navy blue jerseys over the smurf blue ranger jerseys. Luckily I was 5 when the Devils came out and was a fan since season 1.

Guess it depends where u grew up at the time. I was in jersey city when the devils came out. Where were u for ur dad to like the islanders

Garfield then moved to Clifton. But yea know what you mean. Everybody was a ranger fan in the area. Most people I grew up with and went to school with liked the rangers. What's funny is most of them sucked at playing hockey. The good players were Devils, Flyer or Isles fans.

Always liked the Blackhawks dating back to my NHL 94 days, man were they good. Roenick, Belfour, Chelios, and the best jersey's in the league. A distant 3rd because my grandfather who is the reason I am hockey fan, is the Boston Bruins. So I didn't mind seeing the past 2 Stanley Cups hoisted by teams other than the Devils.
