Said it in the regular season and @thunderc laughed at me but depth is overrated in the playoffs. Amazing thing to have in the regular season to keep your top guys fresh
it is unless you have injuries- know this is not the Cavs thread- but the injuries, plus Ty Jerome forgetting how to shoot has hurt--- with Garland's status they need another ball handler to give Mitchell a break and with Garland hurting and Jerome a mess its been a problem. Plus Hunter is such a good 6th/7th man in the playoffs and now he has a thumb the size of brick. That blows. Strus has been the glue- the Pacers hate him too. As soon as thug Johnson came - they insantly were running Strus into high screens to beat him up since they hate his guts.

@thunderc loves to brag about okc winning games by double digits but it’s likely hurting them now. They played in a league low 24 clutch games during the regular season and you can see by games 1 and 3 that they look uncomfortable when the game is close in the final minutes
Brag? Sorry stating facts isn’t bragging. So what do you think, let people stay closer? Lmao. Hey this is a ride for everyone here in the OKC, we love what we have and are enjoying the ride. It’s nice to know when your team plays their best they aren’t losing. This is not a one year deal, or a two year deal, next few years going to be fun.

Let’s have a talk about depth after the game tomorrow. I’m willing to have it after a game on the road.

Next year they win 75 or 76 games in the regular season?
Thats silly, but they will be the one seed and the natural progression is figuring out how to use the regular season to prepare even more for what matters. Just like with anything in life the longer you do something the more things slow down for you. What a ride.

0-2 in clutch games in this series after playing a league low 24 in the regular season means nothing? GOT IT
I’m honestly surprised it was even 24. They kicked the shit out of people all season.

I think part of it is that SGA is more of a driver than anything else- in the regular season, teams just arent denying the rim or playing with nearly the same intensity. In the playoffs, those drives are almost always get contested and the refs are swallowing the whistles a lot more. SGA is a solid 3 pt shooter but not a prolific 3 pt shooter.....what makes him great- the driving ability- is somewhat mitigated in the playoffs.

I see Mitchell playing- and while he has had to do more by himself because of the ridiculous amt. of injuries- his game of being lethal from outside, even if he isnt as good of a driver than SGA (who is right now) seems to play a little better in the playoffs where everything is contested and the refs have seemed to let a lot of shit go.
Yeah Mitchell is strong as shit and plays through contact. He doesn’t depend a lot on mid-range. The Cavs team in general has a scheme that Atkinson has adapted that usually at the rim or shoot the 3 ball. With all the injuries Mitchell can get worn down easier bc of the hard drives. When he isn’t shooting well it’s bc his legs are dead.
