You just keep betting on the nuggets, go huge

lol settle down. Just saying for a team that supposedly never plays well against okc the last few seasons, I would expect okc to have a larger advantage in the 9 games played than 5-4

Denver has been good in the close games, I just hope the Thunder are learning from all this like one would think they are.

Really not a fan of how OKC handled the fouling to prevent a 3 strategy.

Too soon in the clock and allowing the other team an opportunity to score with the clock stopped.

It also puts more pressure on your guys to hit free throws and not everyone comes through as we saw with The Big Amish.

As someone else mentioned, at least make them take the time to get the ball to halfcourt before you foul them.

Me when Gordon was shooting that 3: "Why the hell are you shooting a 3 when you only need a 2?"

Me when he hit it: "Oh, okay. I'll shut up now." lol
He was wide open and in rhythm, what’s the point of taking a midrange that you rarely take vs a 3 that you do often?

I would say fake the 3 and go to the hoop but in those situations with little time you risk not getting it off or rushing your shot. His feet were set and in rhythm. Good find by Russ

Sad thing is the coach found no issue with it. Got to be able to own up on errors as a coach. Only .4 came off the clock after SGA made basket to make it 119-116. Do you know how ridiculous that is

What was crazy is that Russ is right there for the rebound and completely ignores it and lets the ball hit the floor.

Right there is why you never just cede a rebound on a free throw.

Just an inexcusable lack of of hustle or smarts from Carruso on that play. He mindlessly gives up his area on in rebounding and then doesnt hussle back and the guy he was engaged with (Gordon) beats him down the floor for a wide open shot.

That was Braun. Then he picked it up and passed it to Russ

Definitely I don’t have a problem with the strategy but pressure them
to half court. Hindsight is everything but the strategy has worked well for them in the past. The whole thing with Jokic being left on the bench happened so fast but I have to think if they had it to do over again they ride that out with Jokic on the bench. That’s what Denver was trying to get them to do so they got a shot off at least.

OKC played the foul game way too early IMO

This why the foul game benefits the team down 3 at times

Make your fts and the team leading is bound to miss 1 or 2
Our coach has done this a few times, too....not a fan of that strategy so early.

I have a major problem with the strategy.

The team with the lead should be trying to run the clock out.

The team that is behind wants to extend the game and create extra possessions. They accomplish that by fouling and trying to get quick buckets.

If the winning time fouls also, they are just extending the game even further, adding more extra possessions. That creates more time and opportunity for the trailing team to come back.

Play defense straight up. If they hit a 3, then so what. You get last possession to take the last shot and win the game. If you miss, OT. Nothing lost.

Well pretty much every coach in the league is fouling up 3 with less than 24 seconds left now days.

That was a helluva game last night.

Didn't expect the Nuggets to steal game one.

Hope the entire series is like this.

Yep.......love the job our coach did this season but was always annoying when he used this strategy. Didn't even let them waste some time on these possessions and fouled immediately.

Didn't see your ending last night but seen ours do it with well more than 24 seconds left.

That is fine.

I think it is not the right strategy.
Just a few years ago as I recall it was about a 50/50 deal, not anymore it’s pretty universal
