No time like the present.
What's your offseason wishlist? Staff, draft etc

Broadly, dump contracts and malcontents and underachievers.
Make trades for future picks, put the rest into the lines.
Suck.
Hope Tomlin retires so someone else can come in and make use of the draft pick bounty.
Yeah, not the worst idea but as you said, would never would happen, the two fan favorites on the team getting traded would cause mass revolt and empty seats with the fanbase. I doubt there would be much uproar over trading Minkah or Pickens, even though the WR room in particular is pretty damn barren. I suppose that wouldn't matter much, without a decent QB on the roster to throw to them anyway. Insert sad face emoji here, since I don't feel like looking for it.I know they never would but trading Watt and Heyward and starting over with a proper rebuild would be great.
It's hilarious how upset people are about that signing... People are so angsty right now that they are looking WAY too far into a futures/reserves contract for a camp body.^ More QB's in the room and since it is just a futures contract probably will end up being their practice squad QB.
Yeah, it is hilarious the tweets out there on this like the responses to this one: .It's hilarious how upset people are about that signing... People are so angsty right now that they are looking WAY too far into a futures/reserves contract for a camp body.
Like chill, this isn't March. Everyone that will be a FA is still technically under contract.
Well Keith Butler didn't announce his "retirement" until January 22nd. Steelers like to finish their exit interviews first. If they were going to fire any coaches, you'd think they'd have done it by now.
Brace yourselves for the gang staying together for another historic run at not having a losing season.
The eternal optimist in me was thinkin that if the Steelers showed interest in Saleh, that it would signal a change of guard. That Tomlin was finally willing to loosen his grip & let coordinators do their job.Saleh would never come here. He's too good at what he does to sit back and watch Tomlin fingerblast his defensive gameplan every week.
I don't really know what to think here. What to root for. Tomlin isn't going anywhere so we're probably not winning any time soon. Hard to invest in a team you have no faith in. Need to get in ahead space like those mindless fans that just root no matter what.
Is there a chance that Fields can still be elite?
I couldn't have said that better myself. You and me. One coke two straws. The eternal optimist in me was thinkin that if the Steelers showed interest in Saleh, that it would signal a change of guard. That Tomlin was finally willing to loosen his grip & let coordinators do their job.
But yea, same ol' song & dance. Austin & Meyer still employed. Maybe this week they finally show some balls.
I just don't think ANYBODY can be elite in this offense under the current staff. Even with a revamped OL, veteran QBs, good stable of RBs, and new assistant coaches they somehow looked worse than they did under Canada. Just another year that produced more questions than answers on offense. And Tomlin continues to be willfully dense about it.
FWIW, I like Fields and I think he is the best option for now. Even if the offensive gameplans are inept, he can create something out of nothing with his legs. I'm not ready to close the book on Fields as far as development. But I just don't see this staff ever capitalizing on his strengths.
Tip to tip.I couldn't have said that better myself. You and me. One coke two straws.
