As is every headcoach right now.

I think the Pats will be smart to save some cap space there are key guys coming up for contracts, there has to be money left in the till or you up in the same situation the Phins are currently in.
I like this as well. Also there are still going to be lots of good players cut from teams to get down to their 53. When I see guys like K. Allen still available I have to think there is a good reason why no one has gone after them at this point.

I would like to think we'll be able to keep our high ceiling UDFA's and they might not immediately make the 53.
I'd like to see them get rookie minimum while on the PS. It does not count towards the cap!

My gut says that's another reason that Vrabel isn't spending all of the Cap. Eighteen guys on the PS squad and maybe he's willing to pay them all a couple of mil to prevent the Jests, Dollyfins and others from nitpicking.

Players want to play, the money only serves as a tie breaker.

The PS players are below the "Top 51" cutoff for the cap. The only person worried about their pay is Kraft.

Hold on to your jocks................................

You Tube....Today....6/17/2025

A Wide Receiver has been at Gillette for the past two days.

Not one of the 12 presently on the roster.

According to this broadcast, Ja'Lynn Polk may be cut or being discussed as a trade for a draft pick.

The WR seen at the stadium and with front office people is Amari Cooper.

If the Patriots sign him, then you know that Diggs, Hollins, Cooper will be three keepers. The purge could be ugly.

"Hanging around" for two days? That sounds like, "I wasn't offered shit during free agency. OTAs and Mini-camps are done everywhere and my phone still hasn't rung. Maybe I can get the Vet Min. from a WR hungry team like the Patriots."

Are we really "wide receiver hungry?"
I'm ready to see what this offense can do before I pronounce them "wide receiver hungry!"

No matter how many and how good each is... there's still only one ball and no matter how good the defense is, that ball still needs to be shared with the other team.

It's time to be happy where we are at and recognized that most teams' WRs are a work in progress.

I would not be against a move if a good deal falls into our lap.
A good deal would be a receiver in his prime at a fair price.
We are not likely to find that. Most likely, their are "Polks" out there and "Bournes" out there.
We already have those and might cut them.
Why should we sign their "Polk" and cut our Polk?

Given what we have, I don't know if we should cut our Polk for their Cooper. Edelman showed nothing more than fun promise early on. I think the Pats owe themselves more Polk before cutting the bait for a different fish.

Who did we piss off?
PFF has our defense rated at the bottom and our WR room rated at the bottom!
Am I missing something?

Well the WR room for sure, they haven't proven a damn thing yet. And the defense while we added hasn't proven a damn thing yet. Sometimes we need to take the homer glasses off and look at the reality of the situation.

WEEI says that Cooper left Gillette yesterday for parts unknown. Front office would not even admit that he was at Gillette.
Un-named Patriots coach stated yesterday, "This Patriots WR Room hasn't had this much talent in decades."
