Steelers are not holding their breath on Rodgers. Maybe he can go back to the Jets at a discount?

Steelers definitely find themselves in a difficult spot QB wise. Decent roster and you just showed you are going big on trying to win this year with trading a 2nd round pick for a WR. I don't think they can stay at 21 and expect to get their QB to fall to them. I've talked to people connected to the Broncos and they are getting multiple calls about pick 20 if the Steelers decide to wait on QB. Giants and Browns already have big packages in place for a trade up since they seem to be set on passing on QB early in the draft.

They should look at the combine tapes and find the slow, slightly pudgy kid who had a winning college record. It may seem silly, but it has worked before.

There are a couple of those in this draft. I could see them having a ton of interest in Kyle McCord of Syracuse. Ton of big plays down the field and not afraid to take some risk. With the receivers the Steelers have that could be a good pairing. They will have to live with the fact he will also have a ton of turnovers early in his career until he calms things down, but could have some major pay off as well. And probably don't have to use your 1st round pick to get him.

My comment was intended as a joke and a veiled reference to Tom Brady. And he was drafted despite those qualities, not for them.

I'll give you props though, you do give well thought responses.

See I thought you were talking about Big Ben since it was Steelers related and obviously he had himself a nice career in the NFL.

Funny you should say that..........I taped the "Brady 6" last night. Haven't had time to watch it today, but In case you haven't seen it, it's the story of the six QBs taken in the 2000 draft before Brady was taken.

I called it the "Brady 2" since there are only 2 that give me any reaction. First was the Yets for choosing Chad NoArm. Second was SF choosing Giovanni Carmicazzi instead of the guy who showed up at their games.

Can't say for sure. I never saw a flame at all.
