Good morning.................

Kolton Miller is 25X better than anything in this draft. End of story.

I was thinking about this when i went to bed and have been thinking about it since I got up. Fuck draft pick value.

If I had it within my power to do a deal, I'd be on the phone right now.

Mr. Davis, Give me Kolton Miller and I will switch #4 for #6 and give you #77. You've got ten minutes or I pull it off the table.

BUT....BIG BUTT......Miller must agree to -> -> ->

Mr. Miller, You are now a Patriot. We will offer you an extension through 2029. Basically four years for $100.000.000 and will guarantee $50,000,000. As an immediate signing bonus we will give you $12,230,0000 to bring you 2025 salary up you the same level as your extension. Otherwise, we won't trade for you.

Well, that's opinion you have no idea how any of these young men coming out the draft will do. It's unfair to proclaim Miller will be 25x better when you haven't seen these guys on the field yet.

Before hearing of Miller not attending voluntary work outs I mentioned NE should go after him next year as a FA. Outbid the Raiders if NE waits until the 2nd or 3rd round this year to pick a T if that tackle doesn't work out. Get a playmaker with #4.

However, this could put a new option in play.

C'mon Reb............none of these guys have ever played against the level of players they'll face in the NFL. Miller is stone known quantity. He's always been rated in the top 15 LT every year since he was drafted.

2024 he had 82.2 pass blocking grade over 17 games. That ranked him 11th.

To give PFF's example of what that means is that an 80 grade is equal to a QB throwing 3 TDs a game. How many QBs threw 51 TDs in 2024?

He wants a new contract. Like most guys in their last year, he doesn't want to risk another year with the Raiders making $12.2M when guys who aren't even close to his playing ability were getting $25M a year in free agency.

It's a ""Voluntary"" workout. He's sending a message. The Raiders don't want to discuss it now. If I'm him, at 29, I'd be doing the same thing.

Pretty simple math. Guys who were the 25th and lower got more than I'm making at #11. Pay me or trade me.

The Raiders don't want to pay anyone. They have $41.6M cap space and the last thing that they want to do is give anyone $13M while they search for a QB. (Rogers??)

Of course they haven't played against the level of players Miller has faced they are still in college. Which is exactly the point, none of know how these young men will do at the next level so you cannot proclaim that with and certainty. You are writing these young men off before they are even drafted.

Of course he is. It happens all the time. But every player knows what he's signing up for when they sign that contract. If he under performs should the team get something back? This is why I believe in guaranteed $ and incentive bonuses. But we know the union doesn't want players signing incentive laden contracts.

I can't see the Raiders being willing to move on from Miller any time soon. They just paid their best QB they have had since pre-injury Derek Carr and their coach isn't looking at trying to do a slow rebuild. He only has a few years left of coaching so getting rid of one of your best players at a premium position isn't exactly good for business. Unless the Pats really make a crazy offer I think Miller will finish his career as a Raider.

We can hope he continues to hold out and becomes a problem.

Depends on how much money he wants. This is likely his last chance at a big payday and he holds the cards.
Raiders won't want to let go but they can't mortgage their future over one contract.
If Miller gives them a home-team discount, he likely stays. If he wants what he can get - wave bye bye!

I would say the one big card the Raiders are holding in the situation though is the Franchise Tag. I think this year it is only $23 million. It will slightly go up next year, but Raiders can afford it. They have top-3 cap space left this year and have the 2nd most predicted cap space next year. So even if they have to overpay not like they have a ton of talent on the roster to pay making them have to choose who to keep and who to let go.

I just know we saw this past offseason teams are realizing more and more that even average tackles are hard to let go because there is such a shortage of good OT's to go around. Titans were willing to pay huge money for a guy that is average at best in Dan Moore because he was one of only about two options that a team coudl think they were getting starter quality at tackle.

Just heard that there is a growing panic in Pittsburgh.. Aaron Rogers was on the Pat MacAfee show yesterday and said that he is giving retirement very serious consideration. The Steelers, according to more than a few reports, have been planning on signing Rogers at what they hoped would be a reduced contract when all of his options ran out. They couldn't land Joe Milton III and while they have been in on several other bQBs, they haven't been willing to step up and open the wallet. Now the thinking is starting to turn toward New England and looking at anyway that they could move up to #4 and get Sanders if the Giants don't take him.

So....what would it take for the Steelers to get to #4 from #21. All of their picks of 2025 don't even get close the draft value of #4. The Patriots needs don't line up well with who the Steelers might want to move. How about LT Fautanu and TJ Watt plus #21? Fautanu has been the starter since arriving last year and is 24 years old, while TJ is creeping into his 30s. Just a question. No one is saying anything, but the Steelers do not have a QB and no one thinks they step up and make an offer for Kirk Cousins and then pay him $45M a year. Steelers don't work like that.

That's fair.

There are players that were not good enough to even get drafted and yet have busts in Canton.

Steelers are not holding their breath on Rodgers. Maybe he can go back to the Jets at a discount?
