Interesting comments by a couple of sports guys. Bill Barnwell of ESPN and Milt Schmidt of SI.

Girlfriends sometimes have swayed players from taking jobs away from places that they want to be.

Wives have a lot more influence on where their husbands may be playing. Barnwell says that he knows of several wives that have told their spouses that they can sign anywhere that they want and that they will be happy to take half of it and stay where they are. There are women who do not want to uproot their children and move to a strange city and have their children be the new "strange" kids at school. Worse have to move to a new city and deal with cold weather and twenty straight days of snow. Signing a new contract with a new team is not as simple as it may seem. Money is not always the answer for a wife.
While working in Okinawa I saw an interesting trend.
Young women who wanted to go to Okinawa loved it and did not want to leave.
Young women who were not ready to leave friends and family for their husbands jobs were miserable - and were quick to show it!
Before I married my current wife, I asked her if she would go with me anywhere. She said yes.
I told her, "you could wake up anywhere tomorrow and understand, it might not be better?"
She said yes, she could live with that. I got a job offer for Guam recently but the money was not quite enough.
I could leave her home if she does not want to go to Panama or Cuba.......

Because he was up against a stacked QB class?

Would he have been a 6th round pick if he was in the draft against this years class? Or the year before with Anthony Richardson and Bryce Young?
2022 with Kenny Picket the only QB selected in the first round and not another until Desmond Ridder and Malik Willis in the third?
You don't think Milton III is better than Desmond Ridder?

31 teams passed on him numerous times for a reason. Even in a stacked QB class he would have gone much earlier if he were good. 1 game against 3rd stringers doesn’t do it for me. Like I said… I hope a team does fall in love with him. Trade him while we can. Because as long as Maye is healthy, Milton will never see the field.

The real question: can the team recoup the value he lost by winning that fucking useless, meaningless game?

Because all the teams that "Needed" a QB took one early?

Stacked 6-7 deep? That's a rare year. So back to 2022, 2023 or 2025? Is he the 7th QB taken against the likes of Malik Willis? Even 2021 with 5 QB's in the first round. Who do you want as your QB? Lance? Jones? Fields? Wilson? Would Milton have been 6th round in 2021? Mobile, strong arm and a high ceiling. Sounds like all of them except Jones (The most NFL ready QB in the draft...LOL!)

100% agree.

Agree.

Agree...ish. I'd like to see him play and play well in some scrub time and boost his stock more.

Didn't see this coming.

I did, he's been hurt the last two years, would have been nice to know prior to FA but I have to assume they did know. Once again I feel the Pats need to avoid the splash in the pan draft. Get the best LT then maybe TE or RB them IOL G/C
