Nope, the Rams are looking to unload him because he has become an unnecessary weight! The Rams were two plays away from stopping the Eagles on their SB run, in fact they were the only team to come close to defeating them.

No doubt, Kupp has talent but in comparison to himself there's been a huge drop off due to wear and tear, age and injury. If he won't play at the vet minimum, then Washington has to pass on him.

We agree, this team needs upgrades in talent but we part at age and potential. I'm not sure if you've noticed it or not, but Kupp isn't a 30- year-old vet, he will be 32 before training camp (June 25th) and on the downside of his career.

Yes, unnecessary weight is appropriate when you're talking about aging WRs!! You don't give up picks for guys like this you wait until they are released.

I agree with you when you state that there's a need for veterans on teams, especially those with young QBs, however, WHO those veterans are is far more important than having them just because they're veterans. Hopefully, you will agree that a veteran who contributes significantly in terms of upgrading play and adding leadership is far more important than one whose talent has fallen off to the degree that he offers no more than what you already have and has never been known for taking a leadership role. Btw; Ertz at TE, has been more of a safety valve for Daniels, a role that is generally designated for that position, so unless the plan involves moving Kupp to TE...

Dean, he's probably a notch better than OZ and Crowder in the slot as this point in his career. It would probably be better if we could get someone that would allow Terry to get in the slot more often. When the Rams cut him maybe we sign him, if you're right thinking he isn't washed up, props to you

I thought you meant Stafford was unnecessary weight. Ertz was not a safety valve. The play to win the game to go to the playoffs went thru him. Thats not a safety valve.

Again, Kupp was targeted 100 times last year and did not produce any better than any other WR would being targeted that much.

C'mon @Dean, c'mon mane!
We're consistently talking about Kupp and somehow now we're talking about Stafford?? Let's be clear between us, Kupp.. is the unnecessary weight!
Historically, TEs have always carried the weight of having to serve as the QBs safety valve. Just because Ertz caught a winning TD in a playoff game doesn't change that my friend. Two things can be true at the same time, unless of course YOU don't think that a safety valve can also catch a winning score.

Rebuilds don't mean total replacement!!
So, if Kupp is as valuable as you seem to think, a new young QB, ( if... big if...Stafford is moved) then Kupp's savy, veteran experience would be as important to the Rams as it might be to a second year QB here in D.C., correct??

Kupp as a FA only for no more the 5 mil per season , give him 3 yrs
